  1. I've been following the trials and tribulations of odrc on these pages since pre covid as I was looking to join my first big bore club and odrc was mentioned by members at my local range and I sent an email to Simon (not knowing all the issues that were bubbling in the background), I got a pretty unfriendly reply back, which pretty much put me on my back foot as I was expecting something a little more friendly bearing in mind I was a new member looking to join a club. Since then I've read and spoken to a few people and they all have had negative words to say about odrc and more or less the same persons name always crops up.
  2. Less than 1 year old, AMX reticle, comes with original box and accessories, excellent condition £250 plus post or collect from Warwickshire. Or can meet at Wedgenock or Throckmorton. Pics on request.
  3. Had a good result earlier today, the shim worked well with the BKL one piece mount, only had to dial a handful of clicks from optical centre so I think I can put this to bed fkr now... The Contessa will be my go to if I decide to go picatinny however.
  4. Cheers buddy, I spotted the Contessa rail and thought about it. I purchased some FX No Limit mounts and they allowed me to keep optical centre and still give me the elevation needed BUT upon further inspection once home (after the session), I noticed that the FX, like the Tier One were bottoming out on the rail as the Anschutz receiver is curved. I took them off and replaced them with a BKL one piece mount as to date, the only real decent clearance I get on the Anschutz is from BKL and they're absolutely spot on for rimfire. This weekend I was back at the range trying to zero with the scope and mount combo and gave in and used a shim made from a plastic milk bottle, it worked but it was way too windy to go to the 100 and test so I'm going to try to get there on Wednesday. If all else fails I may go for the Contessa as its a lovely looking piece of kit.
  5. Keeping fingers and toes crossed as otherwise it'll be an expensive swap over.
  6. I think that you're spot on as when I looked at them earlier, once I took the off the rifle, tightened them up and placed them on a flat surface back to back they lined up perfectly. I did try my BKL mounts on the rifle as they were on previously, pushed them together and they fit with zero issues so I'll be using these this weekend to rezero and see how I get on?
  7. The front ring runs out of being parallel with the rear from right to left so sticks out into the centre which will lift and cant the scope.
  8. Yup, I think that's the cookie 👍 Now I need a set of rings...any thoughts folks... Kelbly?
  9. OK, so... I took the scope off and put the rings against one another and hello....
  10. Cheers - I usually put a mirror against the objective lens and have the mag set low that way you can see the reticle and centre it, I've tried that this evening but couldn't get it to work as I'm guessing it maybe that it's fixed at 45 mag, so I used the clicks on the turrets instead to get it centred
  11. Much appreciated, I've took the scope back to mechanical centre so next time I can get out is the weekend to try again..
  12. I've had another look and yes the top of the Anschutz receiver is curved but the ring is not fouling it, the gap between scope and barrel seems fine, I have however set the scope to mechanical centre, I'm running out of ideas other than trying a different set of rings?
  13. I'll have another look but when I had a Falcon X50 on there it was fine at a 100 and I'm sure it had the same amount of elevation as the S3 which at the time was in BKL mounts. I'll have another look at it tonight, regarding the shape of the dovetail on the receiver, I'm sure it's flat.
  14. Cheers Shuggy, I was looking at the Sportsmatch adjustable elevation Atp61 mounts which seem to get good reviews, the Hawke stuff I've used in the past on sub 12 stuff and it's not been brilliant.
  15. Good to be shooting my Annie again even though I ran out of elevation and was 3" high of my poa, so had to adjust for that. Still good results using RWS Special Match unsorted and straight from the box. 5 shot groups on each target, centre target was trying to get zero and cold bore shots before I moved onto the 5 shot groups. Last photo of target was a cracker, just looking at sorting out the elevation before I can dial in properly.
  16. Hi Terry thanks for the reply, good point, I guess I could opt for a rail but that would mean more expense and in all honesty if I can, I'd prefer to try to keep the rifle as close to original as possible? It's a 22LR and 100yards is the distance that this rifle is going to be shot at so a 20moa rail would give me more than I need so thinking out loud (whilst typing) I'd be somewhere in the middle ground and have more than I'd need but then again I guess its better to have more than not enough, but that'll mean the dreaded picatinny/weaver rail plus ring combo = more money. The other thing is that my variable S3s have no problem with elevation at 100yds yet this bloody fixed mag has less, that's the pain in the ass right there.
  17. I'm not long got back from a session at the range and after finally getting my stock back from being reworked I put the package back together to shoot at the 100yds at the local club. Package is Anschutz 1813 Supermatch, Tier One rings and a Sightron S3 45x45 ED. When zeroing, the elevation was at maximum which left me 3" short of where I needed to be. As the Anschutz has a dovetail fitting, I don't want to use a Picatinny to dovetail adapter nor do I want to shim the back ring to try to get some extra elevation as that has always bothered me. Burris XTR signature rings came to mind but I think that they're a picatinny/weaver fitting? Any help would be appreciated.
