  1. Morning...69g Lapua Scenars over 24g Viht N140 in my Savage 12 BTCSS 1/9 twist 26" barrel...probably one of the most consistent & accurate rounds I've made & comfortable to shoot.
  2. Hi....can you tell me if this rifle is still for sale please? Cheers...
  3. Hi All....I have a full set of 3 dies only as pictured that have genuinely been hardly used, only reason for sale is that the dies came with the rifle & I already had a set for this calibre. £20 + post at cost Bank transfer payment please or can meet at Bisley... Adverised elsewhere too Thanks for looking! Cheers! Now Sold
  4. Hi All...ta for all your replies, I reload on a Redding T7 so setting it to the shellholder seems a good place to start, thanks again!
  5. Good morning All...I need to reset my Redding .308 body die into the turret & have lost the instruction leaflet that came with the dies. It's been a while now since I first set it up but from memory I think you just fully raise the arm with the shell holder in place, then screw the die in until it makes contact with the shell holder plus a tad more. On this point my memory fades, so do you screw the die in one or half more turns or is the shell holder contact point plus a tad more to cam over where you start from? I will fine tune the shoulder bump using a case gauge anyway but which is the correct starting point?Thank you in advance....Regards,Stuart
  6. Good morning....can you tell me if these scales are still for sale please? A fellow member of our club is just starting up & I know he needs a set of scales. I do appreciate that this is an old ad but noted that there were no replies, so I thought I would ask the question! Thank you.... Kindest regards, Stuart
  7. Hi....is this still for sale please? If so have you found the missing items? Thank you.....
  8. Hi....I realise it's an oldish posting but is this still for sale? There is a member of our club who is getting some gear together to reload & he may well be interested but thought it best to see if it was still available first! Cheers....
  9. A lovely rifle & rare to see one for sale in the U.K.....good luck with the sale!
  10. Imperial Wax for me....👍
  11. I understood that Xtrema, as I said ....+1 to Gruntus's reply & then....."as for the cases" etc. Just adding to the original question that's all....👍
  12. +1 on reply from Gruntus. As for the cases I rinse well in a rotary case tumbler, towel dry them & put them on a vented pizza tray in the oven at 60-70 degrees for 15-20 minutes then leave them overnight in the airing cupboard, job done! ATB
  13. + 1 on the Lapua Scenar 155's
  14. I use Triple 7 for my New Army revolver so that might be a good idea.....thanks to you all for taking the time to post your thoughts....it's much appreciated, cheers! 👍
  15. Good morning Vince, Terry & All! Thank you very much for your replies, very much appreciated....however...I don't want to upset the BP fraternity but I do not intend to use Black Powder, it's not really what I want to do. I reload for 7 other calibres, mainly military rifles, using the facilities at my local club. I don't have the room for molding my own heads either there or at home. I have my press/dies etc. set up on my loading bench there & besides all that there are the issues with BP storage. I'm sure someone said that we were not allowed to do so at the club because of H&S/Insurance issues..... As I did with all my other rifles I will develop a load that suits but I was looking for a starting point recipe for those weight of heads using smokeless powder, Alliant Reloader 7....H4198 or something similar? Thanks again! Cheers...
  16. Hi All....I have on order a 45-70 cal Pedersoli Sharps 1874 Competition rifle with a 34" barrel which I understand has a 1-18 twist.......It will be fitted with the Pedersoli Long Range Creedmore sight. I intend to try & shoot this beast at 600yds-1000yds with either a 480g Spitzer or 405g RNFP head over Starline brass with a either a magnum or standard long rifle primer. I have already got the Hornady Custom Grade 3 die set (F/L, Seater & Expander) in this calibre. Is there anyone out there with any experience of a load/choice of powder for this combination? Any thoughts or advice would be welcome....👍 Thank you....
  17. 👍👍👍👍👍👍 Mark (Spud) & Nathan are simply the best....I have bought from them on numerous occasions & would not use anyone else, top people, top company! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
  18. Hi....I never load to overall length, always to the ogive with a Hornady Lock n Load comparator. However, if you look at a Sierra head under a magnifying glass & then compare it to a Lapua head you will see the difference. The Sierra heads look like a craggy mountain top by comparison! Of course using a meplat trimmer will resolve the issue but why should you have to? I'm loading a .223 to 10thou off the lands using a Hornady modified case system....works for me! All the best Cheshirelad!
  19. Hi....I'm lucky to have a 1955 No4 MK2 Fazakerly .303 regulated by Fultons, all original & virtually unfired when I bought it. I settled on 42g of VVN140 using a 174g PPU head with PPU cases, neck sizing only for 3-4 loads & then F/L resize when required, using an LE Wilson fired case rifle gauge, works for me! As previous posters commented case separation can be an issue when you overwork .303 brass, I found that S&B cases were particularly prone to this & found PPU to be O.K. Considering what ranges the rifle was intended for I get really tidy groups at 600yds so well pleased! Good luck! 👍
