  1. That would of been a flesh wound 😁. Maybe buggs would of had a sore throat for a couple of days 😉
  2. A POO23 at 700yds in a 10mph wind 😳 That must a luckiest shot ever made 😆 You must of woke up just after the shot went off in your dream 😉 If I were you I'd buy a lottery ticket 😁. Tell us another 😆😉
  3. There a S111 8-32x56 LR illuminated scope on fullbore UK for £775
  4. Reading the different interpretations and having a expert in firearms admin must of thrown some light on the subject for many.. I learnt lots of things 👍
  5. If your are just a target shooter then you have to be a member of a club to get an FAC which is the main thing and hopefully your taught the basic safety rules gun handling before you go to other ranges too shoot. Your comments in the last paragraph would make things even more complicated for target shooters.. Let's not 👍
  6. Ok Chris. That will be possible as I've several different worn brushes bronze and some nylon ones I could do that 👍 I did smoother some JB paste over a naked nylon brush and worked that up n down the bore too. As the throat got shinnier it must of polished it to a fashion 👍
  7. Without looking at my FAC I think the restrictions was too do with only shooting target ammo as long as i was a member of a club.. Those rules are a bit daft as you could always buy target ammo without doing the face to face thing and you could only buy expanding stuff like that until recently.. There are some strange rules that make no sense to most of us the way the terminology explains things.. wording that only law solicitors could decipher.. Thanks for your contribution to trying answer these questions 👍
  8. Does this only apply to you..? Could or couldn't you take any mates with you too shoot unless they too were employed/paid by the estate which then makes them key workers or not ?? Just curious..!! The replies to the thread further on about shooting with clubs then going to other ranges got a bit conflicting. I am a member of 2 clubs.. One is HO approved and the other isn't or wasn't, not sure if they have been approved yet.. Individuals who are NRA members can hire a lane and shoot.. They maybe members of non HO approved clubs.. What would the difference be officially..? My FAC has been open for over 20 years and the conditions let me zero on permissions I have the authority from the landowner to do so.. All my rifles are for hunting and target use and it's the target ammo that has the restrictions on I think.. Reading all the replies on this thread on what ranges you can and cant shoot on got confusing.
  9. I'm not bothered by the firecracking because I never expected anything less.. It was interesting to see and how my cleaning regime was going.. When we get back out shooting hopefully I will see if the JB paste has reduce the copper fouling.. I will get the right tooling for the job which I'd feel happier with using.. The firecracking diminishes fast as you move down the barrel.. I will measure it next time I get the borescoped out.. I will definately keep shooting it until it dies 😁
  10. I gave the JB paste a whirl.. I used boretec eliminator as that's all I had and it's a barrel cleaner anyway. It didn't feel like It was doing anything. Before and after. It's definately shinnier
  11. What about aerosol as a lube as it's a metal polish..?
  12. Ok thanks saddler. I went through my old bisley jags and I only found a 30 cal and a 22 jags.. I switched over to pro-shots jags and patches years ago.. Could I use a drop of 3 in 1 oil to help the JB if I can't source what you suggested or kroil oil..?
  13. I've not got any of the jags and bits and bobs needed to apply the JB paste that's shown on the videos I've watched on YouTube.. I've got a tiny tub of JB paste off a fellow shooters.. Can I just use a nylon bore brush or would I need bisley patches and a bisley jag.. What other oily jollop can I use in place of kroil oil as I've none of this stuff..
  14. Im a very active person despite having fibromyalgia, just being around the house over the bank holiday weekend I've found hard enough and I've been gardening, repairing my fence and other stuff..!! I'm glad I'm still working...!! I've lots of jobs lined up inside my house just incase the lockdown continues and my work stops because the materials has ran out. We've been very lucky with the weather of late, especially this Friday Saturday and Sunday has been terrific and we can't go anywhere 🙄
  15. The likelyhood is it's going to get around like a common cold and go round and around until we've all had it. This will probaly take a long time to do its rounds this is why is so distressing
  16. I live 1150yds from my nearest permission ranging it from my gunroom velux window.
  17. A good freind of mine is a keeper and i messaged him the other day asking him how it's affecting him but things were business as usual...!!
  18. We all will be hoping that things will return to normal asap... Continued doom and gloom is not good for our spirits and well being 🙄
  19. As you have explained you situation in full it's better understood so other shooters don't get the wrong impression thinking that it's still ok for you so it must be ok for them.. Being a paid gamekeeper wouldn't be considered as recreational. As been said many times never assume anything...!! Thanks for shedding more light on this topic 👍
  20. It sounds like none of us should be going out shooting unless you own/run or live on a farm. Not sure there is any other exceptions... I am still working but not sure for how much longer as we're running out of materials fast because most merchant's are closed 🙄
  21. So your a agricultural contractor not a professional stalker or vermin controller..?
  22. I was and it's conditional. If you live on a farm it's different.
  23. Sikamalc on stalking directory in deer stalking general has written an article on this subject being most stalkers are classed as recreational stalkers and in only certain circumstances would be ok.. It's worth a read if your unsure 👍
  24. Any type of shooting could be classed as recreational unless you are a professional I guess..🤔
