As a matter of interest, One on top of Two, what's the fill ratio with your load of RS52 in 243?

Which model is it?

I use one of these:
https://richmondscientific.com/products/decon-ultrasonic-bath-fs-200b
They often turn up on used lab eqpt sites, and being "industrial" are a lot more efficient than much of the new stuff to be found on ebay etc.

I'm happy with 1 MOA at 600yds on a windy day................

I've had a chrome-moly barrel that'd been stripped and polished. No sign of rust after years. The only maintenance needed was an occasional oily rag.
The action on my Musgrave is the same. I just pop it out of the stock from time to time to check the underside.

So was it blued beforehand, or is the action stainless steel?

Have you tried this?

An easy way to find optical centre. Then you can deduce how far out the mechanical centre is.

Mine's this size, and will take a laptop standing on end.

Ah, an excellent vintage.............good colour, excellent strength, but can be a little skittish when it comes to speed.............

I've had this time and again, so I'll now only buy stuff after ringing to ask if they have it in front of them...............which also means that I avoid those rainy day "impulse buys"😀
I have to say it's never happened when buying bullets and cases from www.ballisticservice24.eu.......

In the past I got round this problem on a Tikka M595 and a Swing by putting a shim between the top of the trigger housing and the receiver to effectively drop the top sear a tad.
Takes a bit of trial and error, though, and will only work if the trigger is bolted to the receiver.

I have Bergara and Brux blanks...................I'll get a couple of pics up for comparison.

What Meles said, plus, of course, use of the correct cutting fluid..............and the button effectively work hardens the surface along the bore.
Viewed directly through the borescope, the chatter marks caused by the button can just be seen along the front half of the bore. (the camera can't quite focus that well).

Read the words again..........😊 the last line.............I don't know why the title of each photo didn't appear. Maybe it needs to be added as text in the photo itself.

I thought I'd share a couple of photos taken with a camera lashed to a Hawkeye borescope....................the rifle is my old Musgrave 6BR which I bought as a barrelled action around 7 years ago, with no idea how many rounds had been through it (barrel was new in 2007, on a different rifle).................I've done at least 2500 since.
It's a 30" Lothar Walther 8 twist, and as far as I can tell, it's just a standard barrel, not lapped.
Using RS52 and 105 grain Scenars, it will still shoot 1 MOA at 600yds if I get the wind right.
Top photo is start of the lands, next is 100mm in from the throat, and last is 100mm inside the muzzle.

For cases I'd recommend something like this https://cpc.farnell.com/james-products/ultra-8060/ultrasonic-cleaner-ultra-8060/dp/SA02613
A lot of the cheapo small volume jobs won't last five minutes.

I've used both the KVB-223 and the 223M's in 308 (Palma cases) with RS52 and no problems................

+ 1 for RS62........just started using this with 136 scenar "L"'s, and it looks very promising, and kinder on barrels.

Based on a Quadlite action, you won't go far wrong with that..............
