That aimer is so simple, yet it makes life so much easier when setting up..............
Now if only they had a remote, so that you didn't have to keep jumping up and down when it failed to track............(no, I don't have a smart phone)

Imuto model X6L Powerpack, lasts and lasts. Does at least 4 x 4hr mornings left on all the time.

RS52 works well with 123 grain Scenars in mine. Also RS50 (close to N140), but best of all is RS60 with 136 grain Scenar "L".
In a 760mm barrel, this gives 880m/s

Spend money on a good balance............in 223, a little powder can make a big difference. And decent dies..........I use Redding body, full sizing, and seating dies + Lee collet die for neck sizing for 223.
And one of these: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gPGYgceltKI

Ow, awright then........................

Why do you say that? I've had a load of grief trying to get a repeatable method, and I was just trying to find out exactly how others do it..........

When you insert the gauge with the bullet into the chamber, how do you ensure that you're applying the same pressure each time to sit the bullet on the land?
Pete

How do you measure 8 thou off the lands? Is that an average of multiple measurements using a different bullet each time, or the same bullet?

Bisley's online system works pretty well. I've been using it since it was set up, booking targets for myself and a few mates on a regular basis. There's also a "Range availability" table showing what's available and when.
It's usually up to date...........

Well it's nowhere near as messy as lanolin..........but then if you like sheep..........😉

Vaseline works..............a lot cheaper than Imperial wax.

I've been using these for a couple of years now: https://www.3m.com/3M/en_US/company-us/all-3m-products/~/3M-PELTOR-Level-Dependent-Earplug-LEP-200/?N=5002385+3290832991&rt=rud
Found the over-ear type always got dislodged slightly when on aim.

I hollowed out an old Anschutz match 54 stock with a hammer and chisel, and put a Musgrave 6BR into it.
A bit of stainless tube off ebay for the pillars plus a lump of plasticine to define the trigger space, (dug out after the resin had cured), a huge dollop of Devcon, and Bob's your mothers' brother...............the worst part was getting the Devcon out of my hair, the carpet, and next doors' cat.
Go for it.....it's a good feeling of achievement when you've finished and cleaned it all up. Even better when it shoots...........got a couple of pics if anyone's interested.

When I first used mine, I tried it simultaneously with a Magnetospeed, and with the muzzle positioned as recommended, the results were within 10fps of each other.

Is that the Savage mod 12 F/TR? We have one with factory Savage 308 and 6BR barrels, plus a Bergara 6.5x47 barrel.

I've already had two Bergara 's (button rifled and honed) fitted, 6x47 and 6.5x47 and they're brilliant. The price on the Brux (cut rifled and lapped) was too good to miss, and that'll eventually replace the 13 year old Lothar on a 6BR, if I ever manage to wear it out.

I've bought a Bergara blank for £209 posted, and a Brux blank for £420 from the same guys........... they had to wait 7 or 8 months for the Bergara, and a couple for the Brux.
The only thing wrong with Lothar is that you need an account with them before they'll sell you a blank...........the barrels (s/steel) themselves are s**t hot, and appear to last forever.

So, will it record a 223 hit?

All now sold.....thanks Gents.

Pete

No, sorry.
Pete

Er my mistake, the V-Max still need a home.................all four boxes for £80 posted.
Don't make me advertise them "somewhere else......."

Apart from Lee, does anyone else make them? I'm looking for 6x47 and 6.5x47, which Lee will make up as custom items, but lead times are very uncertain.
I'm using their off the shelf 6PPC for 6BR and it works really well.
