  1. Do you have a price just for the rifle + mags, and does it have a 2-stage trigger ? Pete
  2. Owned by us from new, bought in 2011. We switched to 6BR in 2013, then 6.5x47 in December 2017, the 308 barrel having been stored since. It's fired approx 1100 rounds during the 2 years, and has now been re-fitted. There is a steel Farrell 20MOA Pic rail fitted. The Form stock was fitted at the same time as the 6,5x47 barrel. However, it was later found to be cracked at the neck, and was properly repaired by epoxying a length of 8mm studding up through the pistol grip, now considerably stronger than when new! The trigger was replaced a couple of years ago, and there is some pitting on the bolt face. (As these rifles are somewhat modular in design, the bolt head is attached to the bolt by a pin, and is easily removed and replaced.) The original Savage stock is included with the action screws, together with the barrel spanner, and trigger adjustment tool. The scope's a Sightron Slll 8-32 x 56 LRMOA with MOA-2 reticle (and steel 30mm low rings). Some brassing on the turret edges, but optically pristine, with a skylight filter fitted from new. I've included the 6BR and 6.5x47 barrels in the pics in case anyone is interested. Priced to sell: Rifle plus Form & original stock, £500, With scope, £900, scope on it's own (after rifle is sold...), £450 6BR and 6.5x47 barrels £50 each. Preferably face to face at Bisley. Please PM in first instance. Pete
  3. Does the bolt lock into the barrel or the receiver on this model? Pete
  4. As an aside, can anyone tell me what the difference is between an M590 and an M595 action, apart from the size of the ejection port, please? Pete
  5. Paraffin + ultrasonic for cleaning actions...in a 500ml measuring cylinder. Pete
  6. They are very good triggers, if you can find one...my two don't have the safety. https://bulletin.accurateshooter.com/2008/02/14/ Pete
  7. FWIW, the Jackson Rifles version of the CG Universal for the Tikka T3 fits my M595's without any modification, and works fine. Pete
  8. I'm not really up on current black rifles, but given their popularity among some shooters, it does seem to me to be a tad "too good to be true" at £800 squid.........remember the old Latin proverb "Caveat emptor..." Pete ps: I did own a Blaser LRS for a while.......
  9. Only use the thumb to de-cock it.......I have a c-spanner carefully ground to cock it. Pete
  10. Give this a go? https://thisoldrifle.com/shooting/mauserboltdisassembly/index.asp Pete
  11. I could never understand why so many shooters supported brexit..............it's made importing anything from Europe, a total pain in the arse... As for "taking back control", that worked out well, didn't it? Pete
  12. And a fatburg in your aorta........ Pete
  13. Full English at Lord R will put hair on your chest......... Pete
  14. We've used the cheapo 8" type from Aliexpress with a 223 at 200 yds, with 73, 75, and 80 grain bullets, and they're fairly easy to see through an 8-32 scope if there's no mirage.. I plan to try them at 300 when it stops raining, but I think 600 would be pushing it. Might be OK with a larger calibre and a big birding scope, 80x? Pete
  15. It's a bit difficult to see the exact dimensions. I was wondering if it was supplied by RPA with the Quadlock.......I have a CG-RPA 2000, which has the Anschutz type 11mm dovetail on top of the reciever, and 4 holes for a rail, and I'd need to know the exact hole centres. Pete
  16. And as I load for myself and 'er indoors, I was relieved, rather than surprised, to discover that she can still use my reloads.....there are most likely quite a few in our position. (I don't charge her anything...) Pete
  17. I've heard tales of competition shooters beating their bolts open, and throwing the case away after taking each shot..... We had the NRA guys visit us on Stix with a Labradar a few years ago, the plan being to spot check MV's in an attempt to address this problem, but for some reason, it never took off. Pete
  18. I've had good results with 105 grain bullets and RS62 in 6x47...MV's around 2950fps. Pete
  19. I'd have thought that rifle was designed primarily for high stopping power at shorter ranges than 1000yds. Pete
  20. Probably made the mistake of taking a sniff at one some time....... Pete
