I don’t know about .284 but I’ve heard the .308 is thick. It can cause pressure signs if running the same loads as Lapua due to the reduction in case capacity. What’s wrong with Lapua?

Is the super varmint different to the varmint because of the stock?

Yeah I use them all the time but I’ve got a minimum SAMMI spec chamber so the small base Redding die I have is a good match. All dies are ever so slightly different though, very very marginally though

Customs do loose a crazy amount of value but once they’ve dropped they also retain more value than a factory rifle. Get a custom this has been put together by a good smith, with the action you want, correct stock and a calibre you can live with. Price in a new barrel and any barrel life you have left in that barrel is a bonus. Use it to get used to the setup
