I looked at these, however, in my opinion they are too big, hopefully they will make them in a few different sizes.

You can always put less in a bag but finding space in a small space is impossible. Compared to the likes of the ulfhedgear range bag at £200 the AIM bag seems like really good value. The hard external base is a really practical feature.

Hi guys,sorry I'm only getting round to this now, but this is what I'm going to run for a while. 

I'd an issue recently during a .22 comp. with an RSO that was v. focused on muzzle sweeping (basically if you maneuvered your firearm in any direction other than the butt stop, even when unloaded, hands no where near the trigger and showing clear with a breach flag in place he'd say something unhelpful) but if the gun was in a bag everything was good. So rather than tell him 'where to go' i thought I'd look into something like this as I was using a Eberlestock Gunslinger and carrying a foam matt to lay on. 

This allows me move onto a firing point and set up to shoot without really moving the gun much. While any bits I might need are kept in the bag to hand. Typically the only kit I need on a firing point is an LRF, anometer, data book, ammo. Anything non essential stays in the jeep at the back of the firing point.

The mat itself is heavy duty cordura with a nice heavy duty zip and unfolds in 3 or 4 panels that wrap nicely around the rifle and are zipped closed (anything in there is staying put). Theres a long pocket for a bore rod if you carry one and the padding material is nice and chunky to keep you off the ground (this can be removed or swapped if you wish by opening a velcro pocket). Theres a pocket for the muzzle to sit in and a clip in piece to hold the gun in place. Fits a CZ457, comfortably and has just enough space for a Tikka T3 in an ESS chassis.

Closed dim's- 340mm x1350mm x 120mm 

Opened out dim's - 1600mm x 1000m

For moving the bag around theres a drag handle, a carry handle and a removeable harness, and two point sling strap.

Only bad point I've noticed is the two velcro on attachments (one is a transparent pocket for your data sheet/ range card, the other is a flat  zipped storage pocket), I'd prefer a molle webbing panel to add a pouch or two as you wish.

Sorry to say but totally agree with your RSO on always keeping the barrel pointing in a safe direction no ifs no buts ( no pun intended) . I always lay my kit out so whenever the pelican case or rifle cover is opened the barrel is facing the target and we are only allowed to chamber a round when the rifle is in your shoulder and pointed at the target. I’ve set the peli case up to do so on a left hand side of shooting trench , if I’m on the right it becomes a pain and a little more room is needed but it s not too hard. Once bagged there’s no problem. 
Good looking mat and gun bag there .
