Fairy tails do happen

Recommended Posts

Last year Tim Stewart entered his first F/TR rifle competition, the Europeans, he finished last. This year he won it.

Lee Tomlinson won the European F open class title, while Grant Taylor secured his third GB F class league title. Adam Bagnal retained his F/TR league title.

Both F/TR and F open teams won the European team matches.

have you got the new stick running yet

Hi Danny, I've had a play with it and it has done OK but I didn't really have enough time to really give it a proper test, certainly not enough to use in a competition.

I will get some photo's up later on in the week.

Another notable achievement was Mark D shooting a 99.14 today in the team event with his .284, oh for that one shot.

Aye, very well done to both Tim and Lee, I spent the Saturday spectating and it was a great event with some spectacular shooting. I know Tim went on to be part of the winning team on Sunday so a double for him.

Hi All

TIM here - thank you for the congratulations and best wishes...

Thanks Elwood

Many people on this thread have actually helped me along my journey from last to ..... Elwood, 6mmBr

Desperado - I better start reading the boxes of books I bought!

Davy - specifically has been a mentor, advisor, fixer and provider of so much and tangible and intangible support for well over 12 months

Mik Mak from Dolphin Gun built me a an epic gun...and provided corrective and inventive arse kicks as required!

Must agree that Mik / Tina run a world class shoot!

I will be doing a "little" match report if the forum is interested I am happy to throw it on here!

Thanks again

nice to see a nesika action getting some marbles, as a famous rifle builder would say

"but its not a BAT" :D

once again well done in the space of a year makes it all worth while.

Tim,

Target Shooter will be doing a big feature on the Europeans - in the December issue - from various perspectives - I would love to hear yours if you fancy writing a few words for us.

Cheers

Interesting to see that you are using a small primer case Tim,,,,

Once again well done to all of you lads,,,

I will look forward to your write up,,,

Darrel ;)

Hi Darrel most FTR shooters do use the Palma case as they handle pressure that much better.

Cheers

Dave.

As 6mmBR mentioned it is the general consensus that the Small Primer SP handles pressure better - and even if its only a belief when you lie behind the firearm

I used the CCI-BR

NOTE

1. With large powder charges and/or

2. Certain powders and/or

3. Really cold conditions

You may be challenged inconsistent ignition of the SP so careful testing and validation is required

Here is my plot sheet from 900y on Day 2 - this is the stage that really gave me the jump on the field

Happy to add the rest if it adds value to anyone
