  1. PTG, Manson or Henriksen are what I use.
  2. The DAG blanks are always temperamental , especially in the experimental chamber you're running, so as expected, they are the poorer sample. The IMI and RG, well they are pretty level pegging. Have you considered using some Black Hills blanks, they really set the standard,. Another consideration would be the Israeli fare that Mossad use, these boys really know their stuff, really the pigs whistle of ammo. Excellent test results. How do they compare at longer range compared to 17 HMR blanks on deer?
  3. $1300 if you buy the Tru Bore backing plate as stand alone - I've already got a Set Tru 6 Jaw. This system makes a lot of sense - specially for those with lathes who have long headstocks - so great for working on shorter barrels and as the maker says in his video's, there is no stress induced into the machined part as happens if it were held in a fixture in the traditional manner. Ingenious idea, which i'll probably invest in when I get the second lathe in and running.

Hmm, this youngster obviously couldnt read the signs; Trespassers will be shot, then shot again to make sure....

    Magpies

Had a problem with magpies in the back garden raiding nests - the other day they started taking chicks. So time for some payback - Shot a rat, used that as bait - shot junior magpie, then mother. Customised HW80 - at about 25 yds for all.

    Which boots ?

    Lowa mountain boots.
  12. Will do, i'll leave it till day light tomorrow, the flash on my compact doesnt really do images justice. The scales really fit my hands perfectly.
  13. Had this made for me and recieved it about two weeks ago from a guy on the Stalking Directory. Pics are as it came, since then ive polished the blade on 3000/10000 grit whetstone and now its properly sharp - slightly altered the angle of the cutting edge too, which works for me. First impressions are good, edge is holding well... Wasnt that expensive for a handmade blade and I got to choose the design of the sheath and pick the scales, well pleased.

  15. Looks very pleasing Scotch, is that a 4-16 PM11 I spy? Mounts look a tad high....?
  16. Looked at an AI AICS mag last night under a 22-250 Sako 75 im re-working. The AI mag fits into the 75 mag inlet perfectly. The addition of a small retention depression in the AI mag would enable the mag to be held. Pity I havent an AW mag lying around to try....
  17. Not sure the conversion would be viable Chris due to the double ramp of the AW as opposed to the single ramp of the Sako. Maybe AICS would work, ive a couple of 75's here I can look at....

    subsonic 308

No joy so far, looked through back issues from 2001, 02, 03 and 05 (although not complete), it made me weep to look at the prices of PM Scopes and powder...... Although very amusing to read the "this product can do no wrong" school of journalism that was Shooting Sports...

    subsonic 308

Thats the one I was thinking of, he was loading bullets backwards for stabilty and commented on shooting a cut log - penetrating completely, there was a two page spread... Shooting Sports magazine if i'm right.

I have numerous years worth of old Shooting Sports copies, i'm pretty sure the article is in one - anyone hazzard a guess at what year / month?
  21. Looks a very strong action Zelle, integral recoil lug, extended tenon and integral picatinny rail, very nice looking rifle.
