Check up after re-torquing action screws.. I was wrong about using new batch of ammo last Sunday.. I am now... Seems last week was either me or the conditions.. It's no voodoo but its not bad. 50yds again. Its still a bit drafty and right too left again

Any of you using a CZ457 LRP.. what do you think of them..?? I had a look at a voodoo renegade on YouTube but I can't see me spending that much money on a rimfire.

I did look at the element optic helix. The video did make it sound very good regarding the tracking of the turrets and a fair bit cheaper than the sightron.. It also had a zero stop unlike the sightron.. I have made my own zero stop on my sightrons.. Simple but not aesthetically perfect.. does the job thought.. It goes 1 click below my zero. I am a fan of the sightrons I have.

I have 2 x 8 - 32 x 56 sightons so a 6 x 24 x 50 not a bad idea as I really like mine. Cheers NID

Went out again today.. Back to 50yds.. Yesterday I tweaked the action screws up 2lbs for the longer ranges... Well I dialled in 22lb on the wrench and it tightened.. I think I did 20lbs first and the wrench span like it's ment too so hopefully it is back how it was 🤞 I should of tried it at 50yds first yesterday... Not really sure what the torque was on.. I found today the eley match accuracy had changed for the worse not better.. I only had a multi-tool screwdriver on me too manage with.. I didn't get it shooting how it was.. I was well peed off with myself for changing it.. I reset torque too 20lbs when I got home.. Conditions were similar as before.. I started a new batch of eley match aswell.. Fired the 6 or 7 left from the previous batch for the first group.. it all become a blur as I was not happy 🤬. Back to work tomorrow so it will have to wait now 🙄

My reticle.. 1 moa increments

Took the wind back off and shot again.. 3 times back n forth across the boggy fields was enough. I won't bother any further until I've got a more suitable scope. Using 25 minutes on the reticle wasn't consistent between the 3 x 200yds groups.. It was interesting experiment all the same.

For the next group I took off the spindrift and dialled a minute right and tried again.. Got lucky with one bang in the middle 🤪🤣

Tried 200yds and the wind took my shots off the target as the wind had picked up. I decided to move and go with a tail wind.. I left the 0.5 spindrift on from 150yds group and left the 0.5 left wind I had on shooting down the track.. I then held 25 minutes I had in the reticle and it was blocking out the target even more. First group

150yds. Held 15 minutes and let 5 go.. The reticle blocks out the orange disc.. Scope is definitely not the right one for longrange First 3 were good. The next 2 were lower.

Thanks Terry.. I'm out at the mo on a permission ready to try.. 150yds,200yds,250 and 300.. Started pissing down soon as I got here.. I've got the ranges pegged out but I may need to move.. Got some shelter from a hedge as wind is left too to right.. hedge is on my left.. I'll see how 150yds goes.. I will move into a field and have a tail wind for the longer shots. Going too use the reticle for 25 moa.. see how the holdover works at 150yds first

I have got one of them rubber barrel tuners. I tried it on the winnie subs but found the improvement in the groups wernt repeatable but that may have been down to that they didn't like my barrel much.. As my barrel likes the eley match the tuner might actually improve it a bit.. Just a little bit would make it really good

It must have been you who said what torque setting was.. I did have a gut feeling it was you.. You gottabe the right one too ask then...!! Do you think I'll see a difference in group size if I torque up a little more.. I'm not unhappy with the eley match that's for sure.. the rifle hasn't ever shot aswell.. The old eley subs were 0.5 inch grouping ammo and better at times.. Eley match have produced sub 1/4 which is bloody good out of my CZ452 varmint

I'm wondering whether to torque up the actions screw a tad more to see if there's any improvement.. One of you on here told me what the torque settings are for a CZ452 but I've forgotten what I did them up too.. I know that since torqing them the 42gr winnie subs shoot much worse than they did before I changed it from a really tight feel tension.. As tight as I would go...!! Today's worst group was 0.510. Best was 0.329. Measured centre too centre. After the first group top left with good elevations I thought that's better here we go then right target didn't repeat. I'm curious to see if a bit more torque improves it 🤔

Had another play. Got a box of tenex to try.. Both top groups 5 shots with tenex.. 2 x 5 shot groups underneath eley match.. Same conditions as last time.. Just watched and listened for the wind too drop off. I think it's down to driver error and set up.

Playing again. Top left I aimed at the bottom if the white disc.. Top right at the middle.. Both 10 shot groups with 42gr winnie subs.. It is pretty drafty upon a exposed batch. 2nd group down on the right is a 10 shot group with eley match.. The elevation spread was worse than I'd hoped.. Off a Harris pod and a sand sock for a change that's why I expected less verticle.. Shot from 50yds

Nice group. I had a bit of a plink yesterday to use up a box of eley subs.. Shotgun pattern compared to eley match. The match were much less affected by the wind aswell.

I'll get a V4 or wait for the V5 lol. I honestly don't mind trickling the powder with my fingers too 0.02grs or within 1 kernal but I will still get a V4 at some point. I charge and seat one at a time unlike what I see others do with the V3 and V4.. Charge all the cases then seat.. It's just a routine I got in.. On average it takes me about 1 minute to do 1 cartridge to seat everyone within 1 thousandth..
