  1. Anyone know the best place to get one of these from, for those who don't know its the thread for a Hornady comparator gauge please.
  2. AMP have produced one of these, look at the AMP shotshow 2020 vids on youtube.
  3. As above looking to swap a 1000 30cal 215 grain target hybrid Bergers for a 1000 200gn target hybrid Bergers may consider selling
  4. ,Lidle do an air compressor about the size of a cordless hand drill comes in a pack with a tyre inflator for very little money, the battery packs fit their drills and various other cordless tools they do. seems a good option to me. Having had discussions on this with various people if you could run a barrel cooler of a compressor with a air tank on it, as the compressed air expands it would get very cold. ( if you have ever used air tools you will know how cold they get ), it would need a moisture trap on it but that would be the ultimate.
  5. I will be in touch as soon as we can book a normal target, plans are afoot for as soon as it opens up.
  6. You need to go on stix elec sessions , you are trying to book the wrong target. I did the same.
  7. Using your own private markers means the NRA are not responsible for them and they are usually in a different league.
  8. I still think the best thing to do , but maybe not on the first day of opening would be to open every other manual target but with private markers only. They have not moved any of the electronic targets according to the target nos on their website. There r will be a setting and clearing away area behind each point. Also opening on certain weekdays to release pressure on weekend availability hopefully will come soon.
  9. I agree Brillo, I did email them on this no response, wedging everyone into the small areas of the range seems to make no sense not that most of their decisions ever make sense. Also how many people will travel for an hours shooting. Hopefully sense will prevail at some point.
  10. Does anyone now have a good grasp of what can now be shipped from the USA without an export license. I am thinking we may not now need an export license to import brass, actions, barrel blanks, stocks and so on. but would be interested in knowing for definite.
  11. As Elwood said the overriding thing is how does it shoot, I once ruined 2 good barrels by soaking them over night, it stripped every bit of carbon and copper out, they never shot well again. Getting fire cracked barrels mirror clean is not the best policy, leave some in to fill the cracks and a bit of abrasive to polish the tops off.
  12. I absolutely agree with Vince, its all about the competition , I can see 2 disciplines looming a one mile competitionbased on 338 in a light ish weight gun maybe 15kg, this would appeal to Dave with his chassis/ mag feed rifle. Then a two mile event for bigger calibre guns specifically built for this and run with teams. We are building rifles for both of these along the lines of single shot FTR rifles on steroids. I know several F class shooters are looking at this as something abit different to do. As Vince states travel and accommodation is the biggest expense, bearing in mind if you roll up to a competition and it all goes wrong you may only fire 15 shots.
  13. I am in the process of building a 37xc, I value your opinion Baldie of what calibre you would go for if you needed something larger than a 338 lap mag. I looked at costs and the 37xc was the cheapest option, I'm thinking this is the largest calibre you can load in a standard sized press. I think speed of shooting is the main reason shooters were not spotting their own shots, but then again Mark Philips was doing his own spotting.
  14. I cannot believe Bisley can afford to stay shut once the current restrictions are lifted. Cancelling all range shooting until September seems to be jumping the gun, as no one knows when we will be allowed out again. As for the military ranges I do get the feeling civilians are regarded at best an inconvenience and worst a pain in the arse. To my knowledge this comes from Landmarc and they do not control Bisley.
  15. Joe has been on holiday but is very much still around, let me have your phone no by pm and I will get him to ring you tomorrow.
  16. What have you got and how many chambers have they cut please

  17. How good are these with a rear add on looking for a scope for that purpose.
  18. I am sure York guns offered me Murom primers not that long ago.
  19. The biggest things these days seems not the price of Bergers but getting hold of them, I am close to giving up.
  20. Another shooting product thats british built, Brilliant to see. Something else we now don't need to import, all we need is to get british shooters to use british products, and our own british shooting industry should flourish. ROLL ON. Heres a thought how about a British rifle manufacturers Association to promote British shooting products with some joint promotion and so on.
