Jeffo1960
Looking for some advice on powder for a 308 rifle 29" Bartlen barrel 1-10 twist, using Berger 185 Juggernauts, and Berger 200.20x,for 1000 yards, also what kind of velocity I should be looking for my first choice was RS52, but can't seem to find any, and help would be appreciated
No i deer
There's plenty f class shooters on here who will have this info...

Richiew
1 more for Vihtavuori 150 around the 44.5 mark for the 185 juggernaut speed should be high 2600s . 45 grain was a crunch at 2.9 coal for AI mags cheers
furrybean
You don’t want to limit yourself to mag length
Geezedtee
Hi. Have looked at https://www.p-max.uk/int_bal_manual.htm. Its free. Feed your data in and it will show you how the powder behaves, ie: Powder fill, Pressure, Velocity, how much powder is burnt in the barrel etc. etc. Well worth a look. Jeffo1960
It's in a long action so no problems with mag length, will be single feed, as been throated for 185 Juggernauts, and 200.20x

miki
Download and learn to use Gordons Reloading Tool (GRT). I am not an F Class shooter but would assume that you need the maximum velocity, burning 100% of the powder whilst maintaining minimum harmonic disturbance of the barrel/muzzel. Consistency is key, if you can repeatedly throw the same wieght, high BC, bullet @ XXXXfps with POA adjustment you will repeatedly hit the target in the same place. It all sound easy ..... but it isn't. It's also remarkably expensive to achieve. You need: A good and accurate set of weigh scales. A precision measuring caliper. Brass cases with the same internal volume. Bullets that weigh the same. A rigid, consistent press. I don't shoot above 300M so +/-20fps is about my limit and I find that difficult to achieve (not impossible). +/-50mm @ 200M is fine for the targets/distances I shoot at. https://www.recoilweb.com/chasing-muzzle-velocity-standard-deviation-and-extreme-spread-for-precision-rifle-shooting-152257.html

OK, that's approx a 2moa group. Do you mean that ?

I meant 1MOA (25mm @ 100 and 50mm @ 200M) not +/- 50mm, sorry, my mistake. I tend to wobble more than that anyway although resting on front and rear bags I can repeatedly hit a 4" gong at 200M, off sticks I need to be much more careful/attentive to get 3 of 5, or closer ....
