What IR Illuminator ?

Hi to all I hope everyone it fit and well staying safe in these crazy times 👍💪💪

I’m looking for some advice on IR Illuminators I’m going to purchase a Pulsar Digex as it seams to be the in thing now with digital night vision 

instead of tubed scope which I have had in the past  🤷‍♂️ 😂😂

Any advice and links to where I can purchase some gear would be well appreciated 👍

I knownothing about the digex and not alot more on the new type of laser illuminators , but there have been comments on other forums saying clive wards “ black sun dark engine 940 covert  “ is excellent with the digex

The Digex will white out badly with powerful I/R, you need a 940 Black Sun or similar.

If you are still looking I have a solaris SRX for sale. 
 

it has brightness adjustment so can be turned down for use on the digex or turned up for use on a pard etc

No use on a Digex, far too bright. Great IR for something else though.

The supplied IR is OK for Airgun / Rimmy ranges but not CF.

Must tell that to the 32 foxes I've shot to date with the Digex's supplied illuminator on my 222.

If you must buy a Digex then any 940nm LED based external illuminator will be better than the non focussable 940nm supplied with the scope.

Sorry, Richy. I was referring to the fact that Phoenix regularly recommends the PARD NV008 and seems to hold a low opinion of pretty much anything else of a similar price. As the former owner of two disappointing NV008 units, I get sick of reading comments such as the ‘If you must buy a Digex’ comment he made above.

A lot worse than Pard. If Bruce recomends them we of leser knowlage would do well to pay attention.

After two of them, one which randomly moved it's zero settings and another with a disappointing image, my need for knowledge on the PARD offerings is complete. I'd rather go back to the lamp than have another PARD.
