Hi all,
It took me too long time in uninspiring jobs, to realise how passion makes the difference between good and great.
For me, passion is excitement, fun and dedication.
It drives me to seek knowledge, constantly better myself and to strive for perfection.
I guess if you’re a reader of this forum, you know what I’m talking about.
I have been passionate about rifle hunting since I got my license in 1993.
Hunting roe in my native Denmark, and travelling abroad as much as time and money permitted.
My outings and trips have always given me ideas for improving clothing for rifle hunting.
Most of these ideas have resonated well with other rifle hunters. And when presenting them, I’ve gotten a lot of ideas back.
After a couple of years of preparation I am now starting “Red Kettle”
“Red Kettle” is specialised clothing for rifle hunting.
It’s for hunters who, like me, want the right tool for the job.
I have different rifles for different needs. I want the same from my clothing.
The first set of clothing (jacket and trousers) is designed for woodland stalking. Focus has been on making clothing that makes as little noise as possible, and allows you to stalk effortlessly through the woods.
It will be available in September 2013.
We're also preparing a utility/lowland stalking set, fleece jackets, waterproof/breathable hard shell clothing and lots more.
The main website is being finalised, but we’re live on Facebook, www.facebook.com/RedKettleCo, where we'll keep you up to date on product development and post stuff that's cool, fun or inspiring.
Thanks for reading,
Christian

Christian, good luck with your venture. As others have said, I would not think Facebook is the place to advertise your product. A well designed and informative web site would be the way to go. I think the market is crying out for modern well designed stalking clothing.

Waterproof clothing that actually is waterproof AND breathable would be a winner if marketed at a realistic price and by that I mean people are willing to pay good money for quality.

Hi all,

Thanks for reading and thanks for your encouraging comments. Much appreciated!

For all you Facebook lovers, we are launching our main website shortly (www.RedKettle.co). I'll update you when and the banner here on UKV will also link directly.

Facebook was an easy way to start talking to people, and it will continue to be one of several ways (in addition to news on the main site, newsletters etc) that we will keep you updated.

i'll take a nose and good luck.why red kettle?i'm nosey

Triggersqueezer, I choose the name "Red Kettle" because, for me, rifle hunting is more than shooting and stalking deer and other animals. It's about nature, adventure, cooking and much more.

When reflecting on the whole thing, and looking at pictures, I realised that my hunting trips often involve memorable moments around a campfires, stoves etc, enjoying various sorts of beverages.

The name "Red Kettle" sums all that up for me.

Why Red? Well. Because I have this old red kettle that I really like.

Yes, we'll done on spotting Assynt/Suliven Simon. It's me in the back. It's a place I've been quite a few times, because they're great guys at the Assynt foundation and the terrain is stunning and varied and makes the stalking so enjoyable.

I wanted a cover image that reflected some of the things "Red Kettle" is about and this one was a natural choice.

Again, thanks a lot for reading and commenting.

All the best,

Christian

Glad you get on with the AF folk, some of my neighbours are part of the stalking team and I am an associate member of AF. I've booked some hind stalking with them later this year. Guess you know their stalking facebook page.

I didn't realise they have a Facebook page, but will check it out. I don't use FB privately, as there is plenty work planned for Red Kettle online.

Enjoy stalking up there!

Thanks Matt!

I've been working on the main site, thinking it would be ready two weeks ago. That's why I haven't posted any updates here. Testing is almost done, so the site will be live shortly.

Here are a few images of the woodland jacket and trousers.

Hi Will,

Thanks, it was. Shot a roe doe, and was nearly run over by a big fallow buck.

When butchering, my three year old son found it extremely amusing that I could take the doe's jacket off :)
