MJR
On our shoot we have a quad and trailer for general duties and to act as game cart on shoot days. we wonder if an atv with a load platform on the rear would be more use so today we've had one on demo. I won't mention the make but we were a little dissapointed with its lack of grip in muddy conditions. It was fitted with std knobbly tyres but did not compare well to our quad but it fairness that has more aggressive tread pattern. So the question really is which ATV has the best off road capability and grip?

happyhunter
+1 on the argo they will go anywhere you point them, most atv manufactures will have some kind of mule in the range as well.

As with any vehicle tyre choice is critical, some of the farms I've worked on have land so boggy that they either use large flotation tyres or use rubber tracks. Reecy
I am not an expert on these things but have been in a few--and recently have been in a Polaris 6 wheeler and it astounded me as to what awful ground conditions it will deal with --it was simply awesome worth a look Reecy
MJR
Thanks. Yes I know of the Argo capability and have used one but we are looking for something a little more road friendly to. We will have a look at the Polaris range.

MJR
Yep, using a Honda quad at the moment and its very good. Just looking for something with better passenger/load capacity.
Ronin
Be careful with the Argo, the low ground clearance is sometimes a hinderance in rough and boggy terrain. If its that bad, consider Hagglund tracked vehicle.....
22-250jock
only last week we ordered a polaris ranger diesel to replace the mule we have had for the last 4 years, we were realy impressed when we had it on demo, went every where we needed it to, very comfy ride and will do just over 40mph on the road cheers jock
gaz6br
Had the mule and the john deer gator, got the kobota rtv now and its good. It will go through some right sh*t runs on a sniff of red and looks good in the realtree very useful for sitting out shooting
