  1. 100 Lapua .223 match cases full length sized and deprimed £40.00 inc post. Cheers Dave.
  2. I remove the expander ball on all my dies and just use the bushing size to control neck tension. No point in oversizing the neck to then drag an expander ball back up through it to get the to the size you require. To me that just adds potential inaccuracies and issues of neck concentricity.
  3. Try Mik at Dolphin, I’m sure he will help you. Cheers Dave
  4. For sale a Sinclair International meplat trimmer. Includes bushes for .224, 6mm and .30 cal £65.00 including postage. Cheers Dave.
  5. I've got a Steyr SSG 5 shot .308 magazine for sale £45 including postage Harris Ultra light non swivel bipod £45 including postage. SOLD Cheers Dave
  6. Do you want to order a pile of .224 barrel blanks?
  7. I bought some from John a little while ago to try but not got round to it yet. I didn't realise they come in 2 flavours, both leaded and un leaded. I gathered from John the leaded (red box) was what the Americans called the Russian/PMC primer. Cheers Dave
  8. Please keep this to track as stated. Key pad warrior an interesting concept to which you seem to fit the role perfectly. You have been asked now by 2 moderators to keep on track now please take heed!!!
  9. I would have thought it was obvious? The 7mm Rem mag is not a .284W or a 7mm SAUM as the OP asked about?
  10. Your best bet with the straight .284 is to use Reloader 17 or Elcho 17. In the .284 somewhere between 52-53 grains will work a treat (obviously work up in your gun) This load has worked in so many rifles, I won the Imperial meet in 2011 with that load and a friend won the Imperial last year using that powder. Both of us are GB F class team members and the powder has given us a lot of success. Before someone chirps up about double based powders and all that rubbish. Reloader 17 is not a double based powder, it is a high energy powder infused with nitro glycerine. Double based powders the nitro glycerine is incorporated from the start of the process. My barrel lasted for 2200 rounds I sold the gun at this point and it would still shoot a clean at 600 yards. I sold it to a club shooter on the premise it needed re barreling, as far as I know it's still going strong with the original barrel!! Your initial choice of N165 may be a tad slow for the .284 but should work a treat in a SAUM. I use N165 in my 7/270 WSM and you can achieve very low ES/SD's with this powder. H1000 is a good powder and again in a 7/270 I get better velocity at lower pressure than N 165. So I'm surprised you had poor results as I get easily the same ES/SD? It may be take a look at case prep as this is a great influence on ES neck tension and neck wall thickness play a huge roll. Also a simple change in primer can change things dramatically. Good luck Dave

Hi Steve, no the brass was for a good friend of mine who bought a beautiful little Marlin under lever rifle very cheap as the guy could not get any more brass. I had a contact in the states who managed to find 100 cases. It was like rocking horse poo out there!!! It looks a fun cartridge a bit like a small hornet, he was landed I got him the brass. Cheers Dave

Sadly you will be very lucky. I scoured the UK and didn't find any sorry. I managed to find a 100 in the USA when I was out there and brought them home. Sadly I think Winchester has ceased production of them. Good luck in your hunt. Dave
  13. I didn't realise the F class association has a Face Book page? Your link is broken and I can't see anything on the home page.Cheers Dave

  15. I use 4895 in my .308 with either 150 Nosler BT's or 155 Amax. I use the same charge of 44.5gns in both super accurate. Not sure of velocity as weather crap to get the chrono out. As ever this load is quite safe in my rifle but please work up. Cheers Dave
  16. I see you got the photo's I sent then Nice stock. Cheers Dave
  17. Thanks Stag, its a real shame the initial thread got wiped. So I'll make it a sticky again and hopefully in time we can rebuild something. Cheers Dave.
  18. Martin, that is truely superb, thankyou for spending the time putting such an informative post together. I think it is so useful I'm going to make it a sticky for everyones future reference. Thanks Dave
  19. A big thumbs up for Brian Fox a superb guy to deal with, polite very helpful and very competitive on price. He put himself out for me and sorted out importing my Kelbly after Litts went through. He also did it cheaper than the price I was quoted, so not only did he get me my rifle which I thought I would never see he saved me some cash as well. Top bloke. Dave
  20. Top effort Ray and many thanks. It is a great guide for uo and coming shooters. Just remember the more time in the field the quicker you learn. You won't do this by sitting by your keyboards so get out there. Dave
