  1. That N470 messed his Christmas up thenπŸ‘
  2. Viht N140 start 22.8 grns @2800fps, max 25.7 grns @3100 fps.
  3. I think you're referring to 940nm ir, yes there's a few to choose from just Google it for sellers, I'm not sure about it working with the photon but would imagine it will, but you won't get as much range with 940 as opposed to 850nm. Have you tried 850nm yet as not all foxes spook from it, just the odd one occasionally that's probably been missed or spooked with ir or a lamp, I shot 3 foxes the other night in a small paddock with the pard 008's laser ir, all at no more than 65 yds and none of them took any notice of me.

Montey, I've got a load with vn133 and a load that I'm using at the moment with vn530, both great with 39 grn sbk's both doing around 3800fps depending on the temperature, I found H4895 gave good tight groups and speed also but didn't bother going there. I'd happily give you my powder load but I use hbn on my bullets, so unless you are a user of the magic powderπŸ˜€ there's not much point πŸ‘ . My rifle did not like the 32 grn sbk's but loves the 39 grn so never bothered with 40's, but if you do want to try 40 grainers might be worth getting some nosler b/t if you can find them, i rated them highly as a fox bullet in 22cal. Have fun reloading πŸ‘, or stick with your 223 and forever wonder if the 204 would have worked for you!!

I thought you couldn't be converted montey, and in less than 24hrs later!!!πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚.

Make them run, then stop em, they always turn broadside πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ‘
  7. What was the reason for the rounds to be jammed in the chamber Pete??

Montey, I've used a 22-250 for foxing for many years and loved it before buying the 204, it sits in the cabinet now only coming out for the odd lamping session, the 204 is out regular, and gets to shoot foxes over 200 yds πŸ˜‚, if it didn't perform it would be in the cabinet and the 22-250 would be back out instead !!

Montey, nobody's trying to convert you, use what you want for foxing, but if you've only ever used 32 grainers in your 204 you shouldn't be saying it's a crap round for fox without trying 39 or 40 grainers 😯

πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Ok just a rebarrell then, but 26", not one of those shortπŸ’© thingsπŸ˜€

you could accidently run your 223 over one night, be a good excuse to get a lovely 26" barreled .204 and load 39grn s/b/ks to around 3900 fps for a cracking accurate fox rifleπŸ‘. I've said it before, .204 is a great fox roundπŸ˜€
  12. Thanks Martin, sounds good, yep that's what I'd think about the Thermion , looks good and less bulky than a drone or digiceptor and no ir to worry about πŸ˜ƒ, not that I have one yet!!!

Well you both want to start hitting them in the right place, just behind the shoulder!!
  14. I asked for ".17 centerfire" variation as hadn't made mind up as to a rebarrell in rem or fireball and was told no it had to be stated which one.
  15. Rebarreling it should have 22-250 Ackley imp stamped on the barrell ,which I would have thought should be the same printed on your licence, but no dought different departments will probably have a different veiw on it😯.
  16. So did you have it mounted on a really long rear extended rail?
  17. Well done, I thought that would sell quick, just one thing is the mount screwed on, as it looks round the wrong way to me, just curious as to how you had it mounted
  18. If I was you mate I'd call your firearms department to clarify, I bet some departments will want it stated Ackley on your licence .
  19. Hi Martin, how are you getting on foxing wth the XM50 ?? do you prefer it over the drone 15x?
  20. You're right there Malcolm, there's a lot of bullπŸ’© out there, like you I've been shooting foxes for more years than I care to remember and don't take on 300+ yarders unless i have to, most of the time there's just no need to, but the good thing now when it's pitch black with no lamp shining around except the ir on, the drone/digiceptor etc will allow you to take that long shot when you do need to, you'll love it . I still think you should check out the Thermion scopes as so many shooters are saying good things about them and changing from digital to thermal, I don't know if you've looked through a thermal spotter, you soon get used to what a fox looks like compared to a badger etc, and some shooter do it the other way round, spot with digital, shoot on thermal, maybe some Thermion shooters on here will give you their thoughts. .
  21. And that meles meles is judge and jury, only one way, full length πŸ˜ƒ
  22. I bought a drone pro 10x from Carl Moore a few years ago, when you got a free XLRM led ir with itπŸ˜€, and mounted it on a .204 , 320 yds is the longest fox to date with this rifle/drone combo, which the xlrm is about run out of steam at, shot another one at 300 recently which was sitting front on and could see it no probs so comfortable at 300 with an led ir and good conditions, but a good laser would probably push that out to more like 400yds from what I've read, but who needs to shoot foxes in the dark at 400!!
