  1. Yes I remember and at the same price I think it's a tough and personal choice; but your annie is preferable in .22lr. New Annie at current price then its a T1X for me. I narrowed it down to CZ455 stainless and T1X .17HMR. Had both in .22lr to compare. T1X won and CZ455 stainless is gone. Now have 2 T1X's and not disappointed.
  2. I have a quad and just got the T1X. Cant fault either. Still early days for T1X but jumped out the box shooting 1/2moa at 100yds so happy. I think its best bang for £500 right now if happy to stay with factory stock. Quad has been a good work horse but the switch barrel thing hasn't worked for me hence the new T1X and so have a .17HMR barrel to sell.
  3. Yeah I got that wrong and perhaps I should make it clearer. I am about to buy a .17HMR and it will be another T1x as I think it is best bang for budget. Now I have thought about it - Given the option of an Annie 64 for the same money I think I would choose the Annie? I have a .22lr T1X and like all these here have upgraded the stock - mine being a chassis. This has doubled the investment and is now approaching the cost of the very nice 64 MSR silhouette on here. I think I shoot better with the upgrade but the T1X is no more accurate than the factory stock. Going back to the OP with 2 options I don't think the T1X is outstanding and maybe he should look at Anschutz - unless happy with factory stock then it is good value possibly.
  4. Very nice please post how you get on - just to clarify used mint Anschutz 64 plus used scope etc for same money as new tikka t1X new scope etc the same like for like does sound like a good deal but interested to know who would swap a T!X for an Annie 64 or vice versa? That's a question I could not answer for sure.
  5. Morning Andrew. Yes the mdt lss is on my T1X. Now waiting for a change in weather to see what it can do. First try in awful conditions produced much the same results as factory plastic stock. Noticeable improvement in handling. Have you found the ideal action screw torque setting in an upgraded stock? Steve
  6. This is OK sure but not when I will be charged for the reamer in full for very likely a one-off barrel; then its not really my reamer and available to be used for others - then I have an issue and stopped a build right there.
  7. Hi Andrew. Thank you for feedback. Much the same results with CCI subs. I don't think we have Federal gold match here. Good shooting and I like what you have done with the T1X. UPS delivered my MDT LSS for my T1X today. Steve
  8. Hi Andrew I look forward to seeing how they Work. I got the odd loud popping round with cci subsonic in 20" barrel t1x with sound moderator but decent accuracy otherwise.
  9. Thank you Big Al. Its a nice looking rifle and very tempting.
  10. Dare I ask how they compare against a sako quad for accuracy as always afraid of buying used.
  11. I have an Anschutz 54 action 1427 Biathlon .22lr bolt action rimfire rifle I would like to sell. The barrel has been shortened to 15" and is 1/2"unf threaded for a sound moderator. Apart from that everything else is original. These are a magazine fed match rifle capable of great accuracy and much like a newer 1710 but for less money. Biathlon target stock with magazine holder in butt and accessory rail under/on side of fore end, 11mm scope rail, adjustable light Anschutz trigger. Included is original 5 round biathlon mag converted to take 10 and another 10 round Anschutz magazine plus a single shot adapter. £450
  12. I have a CZ512 that works well with a range of .22lr ammo - my preference is Eley Club for cost/accuracy. Most accurate and reliable s/a I have tried and will group as well as my CZ455 stainless.
  13. Much the same experience and agree with this totally. If it shoots like a .223 then why not use a .223?
  14. Sak can be px'd directly with Jackson rifles 'like for like' or Atec wave mods and probably others.
  15. Hi. I guess this is London Transport if on the underground. Is there metal detectors or security these days looking for knives? I am out of touch as long time since visiting London but I don't think I would not risk carrying a concealed firearm and ammunition on underground. How many here have done so - I would be interested to know.
  16. I have a wildcat evolution sound moderator bridge with 1/2"unef thread to sell. I bought it new in feb this year and used it a couple of times in a week before returning the rifle. The replacement has a different thread so this bridge is not required. For sale at £40 posted
  17. I am selling my .22lr CZ455 stainless synthetic rimfire as just not using it. This has a 16" stainless barrel with 1/2" unf thread. I have upgraded the but pad and original will be sold with it as well. And I have changed the trigger spring. Supplied with 5 round factory magazine and in original box. £300 collected and can be rfd transferred at cost.
  18. I have an unused MDT LSS chassis for a Rem 700 short action total as new in the box. This chassis uses AICS type mags and includes action screws. No point in me keeping it as I sold my .223 before it turned up and the silly lump of a barrel on my 20 practical wont fit without modification which I just don't fancy doing. £300 including the postage to a UK address. Thank you.
  19. I have had both and still have 17hmr. Niche? Don't know really but a question on hmr always gets negative feedback. Hornet was useful when lack of hmr ammo. Reloading can replicate hmr/wsm or better it and at same cost. Good factory ammo but cost has increased and low stock levels in rfds. Performance compared to factory 55gr 223. So why not have a 223 as factory ammo can be bought for less? Plus more suitable for range. Hmr works with 16" barrel on a lighter frame so nice package to carry, more choice of rifles, higher magazine capacity , easier to moderate with smaller mod and deemed suitable for more land. Bulk deals on ammo available and stocked by most rfds. Although sometimes not a choice of brand, i think originally they were made by one manufacturer and all give adequate accuracy in a bog standard cz. Probably missed something but i think hmr is OK just not for every body.
  20. Great round baldie built mine on rem with border barrel 22". I would do the same Again but lighter barrel. Ai mags. I prefer sierra 39gr or 32gr. Redding fl Bushing die and Forster 223 seater. Lapua 223 brass. Accurate full blown or reduced loads. Easy to live with and works
