  1. If you are looking for a factory rifle in 6.5 CM you could consider: Tikka T3x TAC a1, Ruger Precision Rifle (I have one of these, but now too expensive new for what they are [buy the Tikka]), or a Sabatti. In fact, someone shoots a Sabatti rifle in benchrest factory class at Diggle (600 and 1000 yards) very well. Your issue may be the availability and cost of factory ammunition for whichever calibre you choose.
  2. I use CCI 400 in the SRP Lapua brass when loading for my Ruger Precision Rifle using Vihtavuori N160.
  3. Good luck and best wishes, enjoy your retirement.
  4. UPDATE: The document to allow me to submit my FAC/SGC renewal arrived from MedCert 16/09/22, from an initial request of 23/06/22.
  5. Thanks, that's the stock I had on the version I sold, I am just wondering if there is anything better.
  6. Thank you, however, I had a Hogue stock prior to the Magpul.
  7. Thanks, however, I don't do Facebook and I couldn't find a website :(
  8. As title, I have just sold my semi-custom Ruger 10/22 (only standard parts were the receiver and bolt) and ordered a Rimfire Magic: Rimfire Magic Archives - Rimfire Magic (thought I would buy one before Roger finally decides to retire!). Therefore, looking for stock and/or chassis recommendations. The rifle will be used for general target shooting and any suitable competitions. I had a Magpul X-22 on the rifle I sold (liked it a lot, it was an upgrade to the Hogue stock I had previously fitted), but interested in other options. Considering the MDT LSS (however, been reading on-line of issues [Modular Driven Technologies MDT LSS-22 Chassis for Ruger 10/22 Review - Gear Report (gear-report.com)]) since I have the MDT LLSS chassis on my .22RF Ruger American, but I also quite like the MDT Oryx (but this option seems quite expensive). Thoughts?
  9. I am unable to find any images of the load development accuracy, however, from memory the Bergers provided greater accuracy. Also, when I was using the Bergers, Diggle wasn't using electronic targets so I am unable to compare velocity at 1000yards.
  10. Update Medcert received the medical records last week and I am now waiting for the medical certificate to allow me to submit my renewal. It's getting very close to the eights week recommended for submission!
  11. For the Berger 185 Juggernauts I was using 42.3gr of IMR4895 (=2629 ft/s average) and now for the Lapua Scenar 185s I am using 45gr of Vit N150 (due to IMR being unavailable) which equates to 2686 ft/s average (usual disclaimer applies about these working in my rifle, don't know about anyone else's). However, I tried shooting 1000yards at Diggle using the Lapua Scenar 185s and I was unable to consistently operate the electronic targets (velocity was about 1150ft/s at 1000tyards from memory). In fact, all the .308s on that day had problems with the targets reading the bullet impact. Therefore, it's 6.5 Creedmoor for the longer distances and .308 for the mid-range distances.
  12. I have contacted the GP today and they have stated that they will post the records tomorrow, we shall see! If so, that will have taken them about eights weeks since the request from Medcert.
  13. Medcert have been very good (they have done my previous renewal and my son's FAC/SGC). I will chase both the GP and Medcert tomorrow.
  14. They have already been informed of the legal requirements, they have even had a legal letter reminding them of their obligation from my medical certificate provider. My GP has zero interest in providing the certificate themselves. Regards,
  15. My FAC and SGC are due for renew later this year and I thought that I would submit my renewal early (having had previous issues with my GP in providing the information within the required period). However, having applied to a third-party provider ("Provider") for a medical certificate (my GP will not complete the forms required) eight weeks ago, the Provider as of last Friday was still waiting for my GP to provide the medical records (the Provider submitted the request to my GP about seven weeks ago, chased and even issued a legal letter [the Provider has been chasing regularly]). I chased my GP last week and their response was “we have been busy”, should be available next week. I will chase again this week. I am interested to know if anyone else has problems with their GP in releasing their records in sufficient time (they have one month) to allow a medical certificate to be provided?
  16. I like it (updated version)! I bought a Marlin Dark in .44 Mag with the Midwest Industries aluminium M-Lok handguard, also added the 'bullet quiver' and handguard mounted ammo holder. However, I also have a traditional Marlln 1894 in .38/.357.
  17. I used to use Berger 185 Juggernauts in my AI AT 308 (26 inch barrel), but when they became unavailable I have been using Lapa 185s. However, as said above, struggled at 1000 yards (wouldn't register on the electronic targets [using 45 grs of Viht N150]). Therefore, went to 6.5 Creedmoor for longer distances and will use the 308 for medium distances.
  18. I will say before the mods do, please complete your details.
  19. FTR shooters seem to push their 308's using 155's above 'book', don't may of them start the load development near 'book' maximum? Well those I have spoken to anyway.
  20. Will the the NRA course 'teach' loading to the 'book' data only, if so how many target shooters (especially F-class shooters), actually load within the recommended load data? For example: Rifle reloading data | Handloading | Rifle calibers | Centerfire Rifle bullets | Reload your own ammo - Vihtavuori
  21. I am interested, that would be a great bushcraft knife for my son. Would you take PayPall?
