  1. Contact HPS-TR at Newent, Gloucestershire ( they are currently at Bisley for the Imperial Meeting). They make a Delrin block to fit an Anschutz rail. Also look on the Shooting Shed website. Dave B makes a beautiful stainless steel one. I have one. If I can quickly locate it I’ll post a photo for you.
  2. Just playing devils advocate, is the NRA LabRadar calibrated?
  3. The RS powders are no different from the download available on the RS website.
  4. FWIW, I am the lucky owner of both, until my 47 sells on here. A few replies have already correctly stated how accurate the 6.5x47 is and I FAC confirm that. I’ve found it almost insanely accurate. In my experience it’s best with 120/123 grain bullets and IMHO these aren’t really suitable for 1000 yards. Where the Creedmoor scores (no pun intended) is the ease with which it shoots at longer ranges. I have a Creedmoor smithed by Baldy and it just walks 900 and 1000 yards. I’ve not tried it against 7mm canons but that’s not what it was made for.
  5. Michal, I suggest giving HPS-TR a call. Matt regularly ships to mainland Europe.
  6. Another key point about the stock is to go for standard F TR forend. A friend reminded me about this. Many of us have found that the long forend is prone to torquing and the shorter one avoids this.
  7. As above. The Berger 210s and 185s will work in a 10 twist. Your best bet is to talk to Mik. He’ll guide in the right direction. Like all smiths I know, they want a happy customer. Just bear in mind there’s no such thing as a throat for everything, but if you throat it for the 200 hybrid it will shoot the 20X, 185 Juggernauts and both the 210 SMK and Berger, but not the SMK #2231.
  8. If you’re thinking of using the new Sierra 200 grain bullet (#2231), you will need at least 1:9 twist. Sierra state this on the box and all of who use them cannot get them to stabilise with slower twists. The other thing to bear in mind is throating. If you throat for the 200.20X a 2231 will have a exceedingly long jump, and we have found that to be sub optimal. The 2231 is difficult to tune, as the 200.20X can be. The Berger 200 hybrid is easier. Bearing mind Bradders caution about GGG ammunition, you have two choices: Stick with a Barnard S and use Lapua cases or Specify a different action.
  9. I don’t really want to extend this already long post, but what is tge advantage of bedding a scope rail? Surely if it fits, it fits.
  10. Bradders last sentence says it all really. In F Class terms (FTR) the bullet alone sets you back 60p per round. The average cost of barrel life is 30p per shot, maybe less if you don’t push bullets at insane MVs. Now factor in travelling costs, range fees and occasional accommodation, and you soon realise that the barrel is the cheapest component in this sport.
  11. It’s simple, and I give credit to Justin Credible on here for the tip. When you’ve loaded the primer tube, turn the tool 90 degrees so that the plunger is pointing upwards and the handle pointing down. You can then insert the primer tube fully into position and then carefully turn the tool back to the primer seating position. The first time I did it a primer fell out but do it slowly and it works every time.
  12. Up for sale is my Lawton 6.5x47L F Class/Benchrest rifle. It was built by Neil McKillop. It’s a 30” Pacnor barrel bedded in a McMillan F Class stock. The Lawton action is fitted with a low 20 MOA Picatinney rail. Load data can be provided. £1800. The price excludes the scope, front rest and rear bag.
  13. As Andrew says. Also, ignore the paper clip instruction to hold back the primers while inserting the primer tube. if you buy the Forster, come back on here and I’ll tell you an easier method.
  14. Whatever the square sizes, those are excellent vertical displacements
  15. Hi.

How about £450 and I’ll take it?

    regards

  16. I fully agree with Dave T and Artiglio. I can’t see how this can be verified other than the “three rounds” bit. But how can certification be verified? It was suggested by the guy who told me about this new rule that signing Quickload data would satisfy the requirement but that’s difficult to verify l
