Ronin
Lovely I do like the right bolt, left port idea, makes for far easier loading. Stock looks very ergonomic. Look forwards to shoot reports.

pnse
Beautiful rifle!!!! I have to ask though, what happened to your other 243AI? Didn't you have one built on a Lawton? ATB Moses yes i still have it,this one was cut with the same reamer so the brass fireformed in the lawton can be used in this rifle with full loads and no fireforming. atb paul

pnse
So this begs the next question; how do you swing 2 of the same calibres on your ticket? ATB Moses the way i got them both on my ticket was to say one rifle is built as a light weight walkabout stalking gun and this one was built as a heavier static gun for the longer shots, all you have to do is give them good reason to need the two guns and as the guns were built for two different uses they granted with no probs.well that was my reasoning behind the need for two 243ai's,time to start planing the next build now as you can never have to many rifles. atb paul
pnse
Looks good - what kind of black finish is that? it's a epoxy phenolic coating, which is very hard wearing and doesn't chip as easy as some of the other coatings available atb paul
.243happymeal
So this begs the next question; how do you swing 2 of the same calibres on your ticket? ATB Moses I had 2 .243 on ticket for years just told the FEO that i needed one stalking rifle and one vermin rifle and if i had the same caliber then i didn`t need to increase the amount of ammo on the ticket. Nice chap seemed to grasp the concept of common sence and OK`ed it then and there. At the end of the day they are happy to give you a .22-250 and a .243 so no difference really ATB Matt
Streeker59
Simply stunning rifle.... Surprised at the slow twist though, 1 in 12" ? I thought you'd want at least a 1 in 10" for the heavier pills or do you only fire very light varmint grenades ?

pnse
managed to get a bit of load work done, started with n150 behind a 75 vmax with a starting load of 43 grains working up .5 at a time to 45.5 all loads went into less than .5 with a couple going into .3 but this was the load that gave the best result, all groups shot prone off a bipod and rear bag. atb paul
