144 Berger Hybrid in small primer Lapua brass, 42gr RS62  - very good in my 30" Dolphin.  Loaded 10 thou jump.

The usual caveat:  this is my load, in my rifle, it may be unsafe in your rifle !  Proceed with usual caution.

NB Edited as I stupidly transposed my .308 Berger 185gr load (accidentally proving my point about the veracity of load data from non-official sources).

I use Nosler 140 grain RDF, with 43.5 grains of RS62. 26 in barrel with a 1:8 twist. (Savage Mod 12 LRP) @ 2800 fps with similar groups to 'Kevgun'.

Subject to the usual caveat:  this is my load, in my rifle, it may be unsafe in your rifle !  Proceed with usual caution.

 Ruger RPR (24 inch barrel)139 Scenars, Federal primer, Hornady brass (but about to change to Lapua small primer), using 41.5 grs of Viht N160

Load testing as follows (all using 139 Scenars, Federal primer, Hornady brass, Viht N160):

41.0grs: 2536, 2596, 2592, = 2574.7ft/s at barrel;

41.5grs: 2616, 2612, 2616 = 2614.6ft/s at barrel (this was the most accurate load in my RPR);

42.0grs: 2587, 2634, 2636 = 2619ft/s at barrel

42.5grs: 2679, 2670, 2658 = 2669ft/s at barrel

43.0grs: 2700, 2683, 2695  = 2692.6ft/s at barrel

43.5grs: 2723, 2712, 2729, = 2721.3ft/s at barrel

 AI AT (26 inch barrel)139 Scenars, Federal primer, Norma or Starline brass (large primer since my AI has the larger firing pin), using 43.6grs of Viht N160.

Load testing as follows (all using 139 Scenars, Federal primer, Norma or Starline brass, Viht N160):

41.5grs: 1753, 1735, 1727, 1753, 1739, 1722, 1745, 1768, 1748, 1745ft/s  = 1743.5ft/s at 600 yard electronic target;

42.5grs: 2722, 2701, 2707 = 2710ft/s at barrel;

43.6grs: 2789, 2776, 2782 = 2782ft/s at barrel;

43.6grs: 1655, 12689, 1667, 1657, 1689 = 1671.4ft/s at 800yard electronic target.

Between 2450 and 2654 using Starline LRP brass and Murom KVB7 primers.

Best 5 shot group in my Tikka Tac A1 (24" barrel) was using 36gr, .285" between centres with an ES of 37fps.

Horrible, horrible grouping. You should get rid of that rifle.

My address is.......

Seriously. My TAC A1 had given me a group or two scaring the sub .3MOA mark but I figure with me behind the trigger, and shooting prone, that was still good. My TAC is frighteningly accurate with Nosler 140 Custom Competitions at around 2700 fps.~ Andrew

You forgot to put your address in!! :D

We now have a twin 100yd pipe range available in a 30min drive, it's not great but it has solid benches and does the job for load testing :)

I haven't tried pushing the Nosler 140's that fast as I stocked up on the 139 Scenars befrore Brexit ruined my cheap supplies from Europe.

My prone shooting days are well and truly over (disabilities etc.), outdoors I use an MTM Hi-Low Shooting Table and portable stool but even then I can't get better than 1MOA group on a good day.

The Bergara BMP is just as accurate, I can't tell the actual group size as some idiot shot out the electronics in the range!, it's certainly around .5MOA.

I took my son's cheap Sabatti 308 (Urban Sniper) up the other week to do some load development, first 5 rounds (39.5gr N140 and Nosler CC 168gr) were all touching each other well inside the 1" square, I didn't bother doing any further loads!.
