Not only milsurp.....back in the day, I bought a Margolin .22 self-loading target pistol which came in a fitted wooden box with enough spare springs magazines etc. to keep it going for a lifetime.

The whole thing was encapsulated in this stiff brown grease and wrapped in brown paper.

When I read this post, I swear I could smell the stuff again..........

I swapped the Margolin for a DES 69, and we also had a Beretta, but the Margolin was the best of the three.
