Connaught Ranger
Hi all I am a new member looking for info I recently bought a begara b14 hmr.308 now the confusion my gun was made in Spain (metric) and they make them in the USA (imperial) and my gun dealer hasent a clew about muzzle treads his fix all is a adapter ? my rifle is 18x1 metric and I have a moderator and break from a old rifle 5/8-24 will the match or do I need a adapter? Thanks all info will be greatly appreciated
markymark
M18x1 isn’t compatible with 5/8-24. You could use an adaptor, but would advise against it, as you are stacking up the tolerances. New mod or new thread bridge if applicable if it were me.
Chanonry
M18x1 is a common threading. Just buy one.
Moorlander
You can go the other way M18 X 1 to 5/8" with thread adapter/ reducer but not the way you want to go , as has been said before buy another mod. What make/model is your moderator ? BTW you have a moderator and brake not break
Danpd
You could have your M18x1 rethreaded to 5/8 without losing any barrel length.

Warranty would go out the window and technically it should be re proofed, get ready for a three month wait , if the OP tells us what make his mod is ie if its a Wildcat then he can just by the guts with the right thread. Proof? He's in Ireland, hence the use of the word "Tread" and the fact his screen name is Connaught Ranger should be clues....or is that clews? Never mind that the rifle he bought is a Begorra ?
