.50 cal House of Commons footage

Yes it’s good to see some MPs listening. Even if some of the terminology is wrong.

They still need to use the term firearm and not weapon when referring to our firearms. Weapons if used as such.

Also further down the line as they look deeper into our reasoning they need to be given the correct information in regards to bump stocks as in they wouldn’t work on any UK legal firearm as I am aware. Don’t think they would work on a .22. Also the other  dubious evidence they have been fed.

They also need to be educated on other issues like any .50s that did get into the hands of the IRA were  Illegal so why lump our legally held firearms in with the stats.

We should also be told the source of the information from police and intelligence as to why they say the .50s/ rapid fire rifles are now more of a risk than before.

How has this come about now, from what groups and how have they come to the conclusion that they will be going after these sorts of firearms from legal owners, when the preferred method is to import black market weapons.

The fact that .50 are far more available in the US and Considering the numbers not one has been used in a terrorist attack shows how unlikely they are to be used.

Also the fact they have admitted in parliament that the 97 handgun ban did nothing to curb crime carried out with illegal hand guns after the ban but also increased shows that a ban does nothing to help the situation.  This alone should be enough to make the plans for a ban pointless from the view of public safety.

Long shot here but if anything they should given the logic consider the return of our handguns back to section 1.

Hopefully they will make the right decision when they see and hear all the facts.banning the handgun never stopped the the handgun crimes.banning a firearm that's never been used to commit a crime is ridiculous.it was nice to see that point being put over.seing this footage have me a little hope.....!

javid knows nothing of firearms except what he has been briefed, this is rarely factual and usually part of some other agenda.

he only got the gig 'cos the previous muppet got the push/resigned/bottled it.

at the risk of being banned from the forum I shall not give an opinion of where the knife/acid/gang violence problem root cause lies. but it sure as sh1t ain't at the feet of law abiding legal gun owners.

and just to be clear the government of the day has no problem selling confiscated firearms to various "regimes" around the world to effect political change after deciding we shouldn't be trusted with them.
