MJR
Any recommendations for insect repellant clothing? It needs to be light weight and UV protecting also.

VarmLR
MTP temperate trousers and lightweight jackets/shorts. Permethrin treated for the armed forces so good alternative where ticks especially are a problem. Trousers can be had at grade 1/almost new for £15. I use them for shooting in the summer months. I appreciate not everyone wants to dress in military camo gear though. Like these: http://gijoearmystores.com/product/genuine-british-army-trousers-grade-1/ Nosilife ones great too. I've several pairs but found the MTP ones a little harder wearing.

Tikka4Sika
Ive spent time outdoors in hot sweaty countries and generally spray my boots and hat ( rather than my skin) with Deet based insect repellents , generally works , ticks are my biggest fear , tick born encephalitis and Lyme disease ( Lyme borreliosis) are not to be taken lightly , constant all over checking is essential . terryh
Gents If ticks are a worry then use suphour soap to wash with, it is not as bad as it sounds, good for chiggers and Bott fly as well. Sharp's kit and which malarial prophylactic are your next items Mike T

brown dog
MJR Craghoppers nosilife. Lightweight and durable. Reasonably priced and readily available in stores or online. Also shirts made as well. Cheers Froggy I have to say, this tip has been one of the best ever. Bought a couple of nosilife active shirts for training. Even sweat soaked, not had a horsefly bite through - or even land - the shirts.

Ronin
Ive used the Craghoppers Nosi life clothes since 2013 - they work - have tow pairs of trousers and shirts, depsite repeated washing they still repel biting insects and ticks. Material is very lightweight and durable, plus dries quickly in shower / sweat. Quite cost effective too..
