Winchester .17hmr tight to chamber

Hi all, after being able to get a regular supply of Winchester .17 HMR local, I thought I would buy a box and see how my Annie liked them. Using them the Winchesters are tight the chamber, some are so tight they need a sharp push on the bolt to chamber. Anyone had anything similar with Winchester rounds ? Have been using Remington up until now.

Yes, they are the same in my HMR.

 

On top of that the accuracy was really really bad as well.

 

I went back to Remmington which are much better but still prone to the odd squib round.

Going to see how they shoot tomorrow, anyone else have problems ? Can't see to much online about it.

Sharp pushes on the back of a rimfire cartridge....is not a good idea.

I'm quite aware what to do and not to do with a rim fire, the force to get some of the rounds home is not near enough to set a round off.

If a rimfire round doesn't chamber easily, then either there is something wrong with the ammunition, or the headspace is too tight for the cartridge. Either way, its dangerous to the user. Take the ammunition back.
