MrCetrizine
Is it blued or stainless or something else? If it's blued then Birchwood Casey do a felt tip pen that repairs scratches very well.
Shuggy
I would try a Birchwood Casey lead remover and polishing cloth. You have to be careful though as aggressive use will remove bluing.

Mattnall
Parkerised? If you are going to use the mod some more, chances are you'll only scratch it again. Paint it or try some of the proprietary metal blue/black solutions or the Birchwood paint pens. If it isn't bothering you too much leave it alone and go shoot some more. marty
I have machined a groove in the plastic bush big enough to take an "o" ring the ring contacts the barrel and a dab of silicon greasemakes a solid fit. No more marks.
Finman
The outside of my barrels never shot anything, so, I don't much care what they look like...
baldie
The problem is that the mod has been incorrectly fitted. There should be at least 0.010" clearance between the bush and the barrel. The bush is NOT there to centralise the mod...its simply a safety device. The mod centralises/squares itself on the barrel shoulder.
