247sniper
Well at last my new toy is here. A custom .223 Akley improved with a 1/7 twist tru- flight barrel designed for long range. Enough shite, here is some pictures. http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/247sniper/55cc5d7b10bab54da3e08edb33e7a767_zps8f8bc974.jpg http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/247sniper/ab2fd22a836da7c3b46d769ba4eadb0a_zps0b42c924.jpg http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/247sniper/6dd884501996b41dba97d9c4da44d165_zpsd65c0f70.jpg
247sniper
It just gets better. Loaded some mild reloads tonight to break in the barrel and fire form the brass, I have heard that .223Ai fire forming loads can be still very accurate. After the initial shoot and clean dozen shots this was the 5 shot group I shot straight after. Fireforming load with no load development. 5 shot group in the .3s 80grain AMax with N140. This group was shot in 15mph + full value winds. Looking pretty good. http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/247sniper/1e0cf4d9edfe169184be8950baf6ce83_zps0162640c.jpg

trucraft
Nice rifle. Looks like a Tikka action? Who built it for you? Just hate it when I hear smart asses doing their load development in ten rounds. Always takes me a lot longer.

Built by Chris - Black burn at uk gun works Im shocked at the accuracy from none fire formed loads, really am, I hope the main load development is like that, the fire forming load I have at the minute is just that really, although I may use it on rabbits etc in the mean time. Thanks fella. Steve.

jeffo223
That's a nice rifle you have had done there, I wouldn't mind doing something similar to that to my sako 223. If I may ask what sort of cost was involved? Paul
247sniper
Went out for a play tonight, only had time for my dad to have a quick go, I managed to get a group of 5 down range. I ranged the distance that I shot tonight and last night,MIT was actually 125 yards, so even more impressive. Managed this group tonight, in very strong winds again, shame about the flyer, the group is .21 MOA with out the flyer, even with the flyer it's still only .43 Looking good http://i1090.photobucket.com/albums/i374/247sniper/91842e7a0b1bb75577959442fe933a2c_zpsec04ed6f.jpg Steve. Biathlonjimmy
Did you look into the app J? Steve. Steve, Thanks, I did look into it. App looks great just working out which os to go for. Silly really as have iPad, but have android and bb phones. Think work are upgrading from bb to iphone in the autumn so will get it on iOS then. I imagine that it's great having it on a bigger screen when on the range but would only be practical on the phone in the field. I'll pm you to let you know how it goes when bought. Cheers, J

I have 600 75 AMax that I will probably end up selling as so far the 80's are just for-nominal so I don't think I'll even bother trying the 75's. Thanks for the heads up though mate, I really appreciate it. Steve.
