Hi all, new to this site today and was told about it by Grant Taylor and it's not bad at all !!

Am interested in long range stuff (F class and benchrest) but just a plinker at heart really.

Been shooting since 1980 with mainly pistols in the good old days, and also had a vicious Moisin Nagant carbine in 7.62 Russian (the one with a folded bayonet attached) then once my pistols were melted down and realised that the Moisin was atrocious for any degree of accuracy, I moved up the ladder and got more into long range about 10 years ago.

Got Dave Tooley to make me a benchrest 1000yd rifle in 6.5 x 55 Ackley and loved it.

Then got into F class and realised that I needed a little more ooooomph as was getting thrashed at 1000yds by the 7mms and Grant put on a new barrel chambered in 284 Shehane, which has made it a very accurate rifle now. Just me that screws up.

Anyway enough rambling, got to turn more necks for the up and coming F class season. Aaaah, more beer and curry events, must buy some stretchy waistline pants.

Good shooting to all.

Les

Hi Grant, thanks and I hereby state that I promise in a cellar full of rats to behave myself, always be politeness personified, a good egg, non confrontational and helpful.

No change there then!

As for my banning from ............. I would like to make it clear the photos were not obscene and I was not naked in them, also my friend Beth was in a bikini.

That episode is now closed.

Cheers, Les

Hi Sapper, your dead right there mate!

I remember shooting it at my local range Ponteland with factory ammo (lacquered steel cases) and during the shoot I realised that there was no one else on the firing point.

They were all behind me waiting for the immense muzzle flash which had a rough diameter of 18 inches or so and was quite spectacular from the viewing point.

I said next time I would bring the folding bayonet into position and attach a slice of bread to make some toast for everyone, but never got around to that, but would have been interesting to find out what would happen ha ha!

Anyway got to go as got 2 shooting mates coming up today from Cumbria as we are on the beer in Newcastle tonight and going for a lovely curry and more beer.

Will be taking them into the Bigg Market where there are plenty of loose women to play with.

Good shooting.

Welcome on board Les.

Are you coming down to the training day in February?

Otherwise catch up at Diggle.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Dave,

cheers for the kind welcome. Unfortunately I will not be down in Bisley as am working that weekend, but will be down at Diggle for the 1st F class league shoot for beer and curry, plus maybe a bit of shooting if nothing better to do.

Just had fellow f class shooters Les Holgate and Andy Carter for the weekend and had a brilliant curry last night, plus did not get back until 3am this morning after socialising in the totty hotspots here in Geordieland.

See you about.

Hi, thanks.

Les Holgate and I have season tickets for the Shalimar as we always go there when we stay over at the range.

After many beers at the Hare and Hounds in Uppermill we get there late and yes the food there is brilliant.

Never needed Andrex yet lol
