  1. Tested a batch of ammunition loaded with the A&D Fz120i and Autotickler today. 55 shots fired, first 5 shots were bore fouling shots followed by 50 shots fired over a Magnetospeed chronograph at a rate of 1 shot per minute. Brass was once fired GGG, annealed, F/L sized in a Whidden Die with .221 expander. Primers were Murom KVB 223 and powder was 23.6 Grains (1.530 g) of TR140. I was after a single digit S-D and the best I've ever had before was 6 but usually low teens. I'm happy with the results.
  2. More information here: Turn Your FX-120i into a Prometheus
  3. The A&D Fz120i is a magnetic force restoration scale with internal calibration, it does not drift. Strain gauge electronic scales do drift and do require constant re-zeroing.
  4. The trickler comes from Canada and is compatible with a couple of lab grade scales such as A&D Fx/Fz 120i, Sartorius GD503 and a few others.
  5. Can trickle up from 0.000 to final set weight or just the last few mg from a just under target weight thrown charge. Anything within +/- 0.001 is more than acceptable as its one kernel of powder.
  6. My new powder trickler works well and is a bit quicker than the Omega and RCBC 10-10 I was using before. Very accurate with 1.530g (23.6 Grains) set it stops to within +/- 0.001g which is one kernel of powder.
  7. You would I suppose and you'd be breaking the law but I'm sure you knew that. I hope you were not suggesting that its ok in any way.
  8. How do they perform with wet moderators, by that I mean with a moderator totally immersed in a liquid. Sound attenuation may be better but given the viscosity of any fluid that is thicker than air the quoted BCs for blanks may not be valid in any of the reloading manuals so calculating drops and windage required may result in unexplained misses on targets across all ranges.
  9. Bruce Is the central mild steel post on the duelling tree replaceable if damaged by a mis-aimed HV bullet? Duelling trees are great fun with pistols but I'd like to be able to shoot at one at 150 to 200 yards with a full bore rifle without worrying too much about damage.
  10. Naughty boy, was that not supposed to be for Christmas Day? Great product and Allan is a true gent.
  11. Despite their shortcomings they are sought after rifles and were particularly popular with Practical Rifle shooters for quite a while, they have, however, been overtaken by straight pull AR15 variants on the whole.
  12. Put this together from various sources for my Service Rifle Team this year: Marksmanship Notes Whilst it is focussed on Service Rifle and Pistol the marksmanship principles are relevant to all types of rifle shooting.
