  1. The bolt handle knob is very similar to the T2k, an acquired taste. The bolt is however a lot beefier than the T2k for obvious reasons. Spendy, yes very, but I would have paid the same for a switch barrel AI AXMC and to get it in the calibres I wanted it would probably have been more; and who else has a ATR? I do know that mine is number 32.
  2. 5-45x56 PMII with P4F FFP ret MOA adjustments.
  3. Ref the 33XC the rifle will come with a single loading block. The ‘incontinent’ look is the Non-Symmetrical Bipod, unusual concept but very adjustable for all sorts of shooting positions.
  4. Having now handled one I'm very impressed, best features of the T2k and further improvements. The magazines are a particularly clever design. My choice of retirement present was between this and a AI AXMC, took a gamble and opted for the ATR and a very pleased I did. This rifle type was used to claim a ELR World record in Jan 18: These are stock photos from the Tubb website. My chosen calibres are 6XC and 300NM, plans in place to go with a 33XC as well.
  5. Had not put a lot of thought into it but am looking at using less than 200 grain bullets and N560 (around 70 grains). Have ordered a 33XC reamer and 100 pieces of Peterson brass as the ATR now holds the KO2M record.
  6. Mine's in the UK waiting to clear customs. Going to use the first 50 rounds to fire form the cases and the start on serious load development. First outing will be on Bodmin Moor around 29 dec 18.
  7. Well rifle ships out of the USA on Sunday and is expected at the East Midlands cargo agent on Monday, so I will hopefully have it before Christmas. Limited on powder choice and availability so going to start with RS70 and N560, intend to move onto RS80 in the New Year. There is some load data available for N560 so I'll use that for fireforming my Lapua cases. Rifle is a Tubb Adaptive Target Rifle, a switch barrel design and its coming with both 300NM and 6XC barrels. Will be interesting to see how it performs, if its anything like my T2k it will be a tac driver. Got a very nice S&B 5-45x56 PMII to sit on top in a Spuhr uni mount with a Aimpoint Micro H2 sat on the side.
  8. Will need to swap notes.
  9. My thinking is to go with the Hornady 225 Grain ELD-M to start with, still waiting for rifle to touch down but everything ready to go. Don't think I'm going to need an adjustable base and as its a multi cal rifle with a 20 MOA integral rail I'm thinking maybe a 20 or 30 MOA base for the 5-45x56 PMII.
  10. Anyone have any experience loading for this cartridge? I have Lapua cases, Russian Standard LRP and Magnum LRPs, 200 to 225 grain bullets and RS70 ready to assemble and am looking for a load to shoot between 1200 and 2000 yards from a 30" 1 in 8 twist barrel.
  11. If they have already started to split its too late to save them.
  12. Bargain here for anyone after an FX120i
  13. If you pre-throw and top up from 1.500 to 1.530 g it takes about 5 to 7 seconds dependant on the ramp down setting you program into the scale. So let's say taking the time to throw the powder into the pan and place it on the scales is 5 secs, plus the trickling time of 5 to 7 seconds and then let's say it takes 5 seconds to pour it down a funnel on a case in a tray, that comes to about 15-17 seconds per case, round that up to 20 secs, so 3 cases per minute. 50 divided by 3 is close enough to 17 minutes so 50 cases in 18 mins is more than reasonable. If you trickle up from a lower weight that will take a little longer and if you are really fussy, like me and only accept spot on target weights, then it takes a little longer still. The scales used with the Autotrickler are not the erratic and prone to drift strain gauge scales, they are much more stable magnetic force restoration scales that don't drift as much, if at all. The FZ models have internal calibration that takes less than a minute to check everything is correct. Scale resolution and refresh rate for 0.001 g measurement is as much as is needed for reloading to a single kernel of powder (a misleading parameter as no two kernels are going to be exactly the same weight so there may be more or less kernels in two charges of the same mass, but who cares as long as they are within +/- 0.001 g). Stabilisation time is 1 second when set to 'fast' so it determines the weight in the pan well within 'drop, place, trickle, stop' cycle time of 5 to 7 seconds. Higher refresh rates and finer resolution are not needed so don't bother getting a 0.0001 scale as it's not going to offer any advantage over what the reloader may want given the average powder kernel weight.
  14. Bugger, hope the replacement arrives soon.
  15. Tested a batch of ammunition loaded with the A&D Fz120i and Autotickler today. 55 shots fired, first 5 shots were bore fouling shots followed by 50 shots fired over a Magnetospeed chronograph at a rate of 1 shot per minute. Brass was once fired GGG, annealed, F/L sized in a Whidden Die with .221 expander. Primers were Murom KVB 223 and powder was 23.6 Grains (1.530 g) of TR140. I was after a single digit S-D and the best I've ever had before was 6 but usually low teens. I'm happy with the results.
  16. More information here: Turn Your FX-120i into a Prometheus
  17. The A&D Fz120i is a magnetic force restoration scale with internal calibration, it does not drift. Strain gauge electronic scales do drift and do require constant re-zeroing.
  18. The trickler comes from Canada and is compatible with a couple of lab grade scales such as A&D Fx/Fz 120i, Sartorius GD503 and a few others.
  19. Can trickle up from 0.000 to final set weight or just the last few mg from a just under target weight thrown charge. Anything within +/- 0.001 is more than acceptable as its one kernel of powder.
  20. My new powder trickler works well and is a bit quicker than the Omega and RCBC 10-10 I was using before. Very accurate with 1.530g (23.6 Grains) set it stops to within +/- 0.001g which is one kernel of powder.
  21. You would I suppose and you'd be breaking the law but I'm sure you knew that. I hope you were not suggesting that its ok in any way.
