  1. On a more practical note couldn’t you just tape 2 sharpies and a pencil together? Pencil runs as guide in rebate, sharpies mark case......
  2. If it comes in a multicam molle case i’m in for a group buy 👍
  3. Spigot and spikes sold. Type A Bipod, skis, rubber feet and upgrade QD picatinny spigot now £210 posted. Tony
  4. Definitely some truths there ..... As I typed my reply I was thinking “I could help with this”. There needs to be care to ensure that any activity is complementary to PRL not competitive. There are already discussions of “competitive series” etc In fairness I think the thread was started to gather useful input and all of the commentary so far has been on ELR which was primarily added to give “value” to travelling shooters. As PRL gains momentum I think the ELR day becomes less relevant.
  5. I agree the ELR day does not sit comfortably with the PRL day - it’s a different mindset and the timing inevitably ends up being rushed for true ELR due to the number of shooters. IMO ELR needs to shift to a focus on calculated shots and first hit percentages as opposed to the current shoot-spot-correct which was the norm last year outside of Gardener’s. Calibre squadding and restrictions need more thought - gun weight is potentially more appropriate than calibre. I’d prefer to see a PRL day and a training/.22 day with ELR being a separately scheduled event but I have plenty of time these days ! I would also be keen to try true team PRL comps and events which included hike/movement between firing points as per Mammoth, Vortex Extreme etc. That said there would need to be some consideration for us aging, unfit civvies .......
  6. To get this back to the original topic I shot a Desert Tech SRS in .260. I started off shooting 123gr but have switched to 147gr for better long range capability and impact signature. Note use of 2 bags, get over it, it’s just easier than using a rucksack!
  7. Jeez, I can almost hear the dear departed Bradders comments to this conversation !! I’ve shot four of the PRL matches plus two quarry shoots this year and it’s certainly been a testing experience but i’ve learned at every event and had a great time with like minded folks. I’m absolutely convinced that nothing pushes skill levels more than competing and I’ve realised that in reality I’ve been plinking for the last few years. PRL has added some focus and I’m looking forward to more of the same next year irrespective of what banner it is under. Forget the idea of “politics” and “competing series” and think of it as more opportunity to get out and shoot, learn and compete with those like minded folk. In relation to what we all spend annually to shoot and compete £60 vs £100 per day and the provision/non provision of a bacon sandwich is a minor issue to me but I appreciate we all have to make financial decisions. I certainly don’t see any of the range operators retiring to the Bahamas by running a couple of comps a year and I am already seeing facilities being upgraded. More shooters and more venues will start to generate some degree of market forces but at this point the choices are relatively limited. Forget the excuses, sign up for some events next year and go and have fun 👍
  8. Full type A over barrel setup with additional QD picatinny spigot, spike feet and rubber feet. In total circa £450 new, largely unused. £280 posted.
  9. I have this kit for field use. It’s stainless so care needed but it’s surprisingly well made and takes my pro shot jags and brushes. It’s out of stock with amazon but shouldn’t be difficult to find, part number 41130. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Casey-Stainless-Steel-Universal-Cleaning/dp/B000WT63AK
  10. The series went from strength to strength through the year, well done Tiff and team. It’s time to start training for next year, I’m sure it won’t get easier ! Tony
  11. Sounds like I’m going camping ..... it looks as though there is a glass pan and centering tray with the v3. Any benefit to the 416? Is the standard lid just too flimsy ? Tony
  12. I’ve just had a strop with my current setup (user error in fairness 😊) and ordered a v3 and fz-120. It seems the v3 is a pretty significant improvement. Are any of the Area 419 extras still worthwhile ? Tony
  13. John, I’ve used BR4 under 48 grains of RL17 in SRP .308 without issue. Tony
  14. I wonder what the intent was for 1:14 twist ?
  15. Sako 75 III , rebarrel in 6BR, factory 6PPC magazine, sorted 👍 Well that’s what I did so I have a bias 😉
  16. You’d have had to go a loooong way down the list in the last one but still a fun weekend 👍 Another CZ trip is way overdue. Tony
  17. Size: bigger than a March 5-40 fx, slightly bigger I think than a 5-25 pm2 ( don’t have one on hand) but nowhere near the 4.5-27 pm2 baseball bat. I don’t know if there is a new version David but when I compared them side by side at IWA the x27 was 4 to 5 cm shorter than the x45 which swayed me to the x27 (plus I felt I would seldom want the higher mag) I have found the turret position on the x27 does put the mount a long way forwards though, almost needs a cantilever . Enjoy the new purchase and put it to good use 👍 Tony
  18. Does anyone happen to have a spare or know where I can source a 3/4 inch peel washer in the UK? I have a new brake with a jam nut but I think a peel washer would be neater. cheers Tony
