  1. I liked the idea of the built in balistics so decided to get one and put it on a 22lr .... So far it's working well however I have noticed that the diopter adjustment which appears to be huge doesn't seem to cover the range you would expect . This could be just on my unit or on all of them .... I don't wear glasses behind scopes but i'm having to with the Pard which is odd as my right eye is +1.75 and well within normal diopter ranges .... Has anyone else found this with theirs ? OSOK
  2. This is as far as i can be arsed to reply to this.... Barrel tuners work at getting smaller groups but they can't control the speed at which a bullet is fired . PPC benchrest don't bother with ES's as at the distances they shoot it dosen't matter however ELR which is relative to calibre does . If a sub is shot at ELR distances such as 400 yards plus and you have 30 ft/sec or more 3-5% ES's in your five shots those bullets will never go in the same unless it's by luck in your aiming that's gone in your favour . I am not talking about getting rid of vertical at 25 or 50 yards because velocities are not causing that .... Mine has no vertical will normally put five through the same hole and i don't mean a big hole at 25 yards and tight clover at 50 but at 440 its between 14 to 17 inches of vertical and 6 to 20 inches of horizontal depending on wind and me . Oh and there is not one person on this planet that can shoot 1" groups consistently at 1000 yards that's utter shite ! .... Occasionally when a shooter gets his five off in a good condition and those five rounds are matched well which is never known beforehand then he may achive a one off group of similar ............. I'm sure the world record for a five shot group isn't one inch , i don't follow that so i could be wrong . OSOK
  3. The vertical dispersion is through the velocity variations within your shots.... Tuners won't have any effect on that ! OSOK
  4. I've not found any subs that will shoot consistently under 20 ft/sec ES's ... The occasional Five will but just that . Mine shoots Eley Match very well but 440 yards turned out to be an eye opener with vertical dispersion of 16 inches . I feel your always likely to get better than that but it will only ever be as good as the ES's dictate . I seem to remember working the wind out at 440 yards being the same value as a 180g Berger 7mm at 2,600 yards ! OSOK

ukhornet , I'm with you ... I'm guessing it's a great bit of kit however it seems a silly means of attachment . If they had placed a picatinny rail there to attach the supplied IR or as in most cases your own after market IR it would have made more sense . If the IR can be removed then a main tube mounted IR could be used and an aftermarket IR could be mounted without any obstruction . OSOK
  6. Has anyone recently bought or upgraded from a FoxPro Inferno / Patriot to either the X1 or X24 ? Just want to know your thoughts and if it was worth the extra money OSOK
  7. £1000 & £100 would be where i see it ?
  8. Thank you ... For that money it's worth trying
  9. Does anyone know of a drop in follower for a short action Remington . I don't want to replace the new mag but just fit a follower on top of the standard one if possible . OSOK
  10. Surplus kit ... Ward N1000 adjustable power laser .... Modified to fit picatinny rail £80 30mm adjustable IR mount £20 Please add £5 p&p to any of the above OSOK
  11. No problem ... Hang on to it for what its worth ... I have the same issue but with the wraith 4k which i paid £1100 for , I fancy a 4k mini to use as a spotter that i could use on a rifle if need be but i don't want to think about how much i'll loose OSOK
  12. Check OW as i think they are selling this unit at £349 if yours is the first 4-32 HD model OSOK
  13. I have managed to get a few of the main contenders in the IR range together to do a very basic side by side test on the same night using the same NV unit . I tested at 603 yards to a feeding station and 223 yards at a gateway with all using a Drone pro 15x . I don't want anyone telling me the test was flawed for any reason as it achieved what i wanted to know ..... Well kind of . The IR's from left to right were Dragonfly , Sirius XTL , DFK , Pbir X & T67 LED which i included because I had it to hand . Let me say that all IR's were able to Identify at 603 yards which kind of spoils the test however for those who are interested ..... I will run through my thoughts of what i saw . The Dragonfly gave a powerful beam which has the usual radiator mark with a grey / dirty light but very clear / resolution and was able to use without reducing the beam smaller than the screen . At 223 yards , turning the unit towards the flood setting gave very good resolution with the grey dirty image . Sirius XTL gave a powerful beam which was very clean and had similar resolution to the Dragonfly ... It's power seemed slightly less when viewed at full screen but it was able to reduce down to a smaller size and to a point where it was too powerful . When using this at 223 yards it was a very nice clean , bright image with great resolution . The DFK was probably the most powerful of them all when using the full screen ( I think ) however the image was dirty in a different way to the Dragonfly ..... It seemed like on full power it had a swirling effect going on similar to driving through fog and seeing things in the headlight beam . When turning it down the Image at 223 yards was clear and cleaner with good resolution . The Pbir X was just lacking in power at 603 yards but that said you could still make out everything the others could but with less brightness . This gave the feeling that the resolution wasn't as good at the longer distance . At 223 yards the image was good without being as clean and bright as the XTL . The T67 which was never going to compare at 603 yards BUT was so good at 223 yards its worth a mention , bright , clean with great resolution . The above are just my thoughts on a given night using a certain Drone which may differ with a ATN , C50 , PVS-14 or similar ... I don't know . I didn't find a clear out and out winner in power but it made me think of ' power ' in a different way . I have since purchased an XTL as i feel it fits my needs with the typical distances i need to verify and shoot etc ..... and get rid of the radiator effect ! I do feel that anyone shooting distances out to 300 yards and don't suffer with OCD would be happy with any of the above IR's . A big thank you to Grant Taylor and Glen Jones for the use of their IR's OSOK Ps . Kev ... Let me know your thoughts on the VCSEL laser in the Dragonfly as i will probably end up changing that too .
  14. I don't have data but having shot a lot of 338 & 50 cal the brake is far more effective .... People may say that it could be down to a poor mod and a great brake however I would doubt that . OSOK
  15. Does anyone know the RAL number for Elite Sand ? OSOK
  16. ergid , I thought that might be the trade off and you've confirmed it . I'll keep to the dirty light and the in screen radiator 😂 . OSOK
  17. Hi Montey , Are you using the Dragonfly ? Most IR's are fine to 250 yards but i tend to setup where i can see foxes coming in from distance and this can be 5-600 yards .... It's not about shooting them at this distance but clearly seeing them which my copy of the Dragonfly will do with the 15x . A friend on here did mention about the batteries and i found certain makes will throw the light better . Still hoping that someone has bought the upgrade from Clive Ward and can say what the thought on the difference It made . OSOK
  18. Weejohn , The PBiR X is a decent option but it lacks the range of the Dragonfly ... and the L version of the same make was weaker .... There is the DFK unit which again i'm told is the best ever !! cheesy meaning on the initials...Thank you for your thoughts as an ex owner as taking advice off anyone who hasn't owned the item is just worthless Still hoping that someone has fitted the upgrade and can answer the thread question 🙃 OSOK
  19. Does anyone have experience with the VCSEL upgrade pill for the Dragonfly as whilst I've never found any IR too match it's range It's not the cleanest light and the ' Radiator ' effect i've named it which is seen somewhere within the screen does bug the hell out of me . Does the upgrade work or does it just get rid of the ' Radiator ' but at a cost to the range ? I've listened to too many people that say they have the best IR ever and i now have more IR's than daft Mick so please only people that have Dragonfly's 👍 OSOK
