  1. Their unimount is a single piece mount, meaning it is machined from one piece of metal. This type ensures that the two rings are true to each other as they do not rely on the rifle mounting points to be true and the person fitting them to have done so correctly. If you fit two piece mounts you should use a fitting kit to check they are true to each other once fitted to the rifle rail or points. This stops the rings being at slightly different angles which could bend your scope and leave marks on the tube. The fitting kit has two solid metal cylinders which are both turned down to a point at one end. You place one in each ring to make sure that the points come together correctly. You can then lap the rings to improve the fit further, this is placing a cylinder across the fitted rings and sanding them a little. Then when your scope is placed in the rings you know, A that is true and B that you have a consistent cylindrical surface to clamp on to your scope. If you are fitting to a dovetail rail the single piece mounts normally provide a greater surface area to get hold of the rail with, although the dolphin company ones are similar to two piece mounts in terms of contact area. Some mounts use a recoil lug to prevent the scope mount from moving during recoil, or a picatinny slot which negates this benefit. The process for two ring mounts if you are interested. https://youtu.be/8rFOtmWqBUI?t=174 Basically it makes it a little easier to fit a scope although single piece mounts can benefit from lapping as well I think and they can obscure your breach if they don't suit your action on bolt actions. They also limit how you position your scope as they are a fixed distance apart which may affect how you can mount the scope for the correct eye relief. Matt
  2. https://automaticwatchesformen.com/seiko-snzg15-review A touch over size at 42mm. https://www.victorinox.com/uk/en/Products/Watches/Mens-Watches/I-N-O-X-/p/241682.1 Again over sized at 43mm but worth a look? A friend of mine had a titanium Omega speedmaster and found it was easily knocked out of sync. It could have been just his one, but it seemed the lack of mass meant that any impact affected the mechanisms ability to keep good time. He got rid of it after getting it fixed yet again. For a working watch it may be worth looking in to to see if it is typical if you want to go the Ti route. Matt
  3. https://www.nitewatches.com/gb/store/mx10201t25green I don't have one but this may be of interest to you. £275 rrp, tritium markers, not to cluttered a face, 39mm case, 100m water resistant. No idea how bright they are in real world though. Matt
  4. I can see the draw for the SLR and SA80, especially for those have used them. Personally however I would really quite like the silenced version of the sten gun. Thinking a bit beyond that a few others that stand out to me are the German FG42, also the Russian SVD dragunov and VSS rifle would make quite a nice selection of .22lr semi autos should they become available. Matt
  5. Opticswarehouse are doing the IOR 6-24x56 vulcan for 995 atm. MOA or MIL https://www.opticswarehouse.co.uk/ior-vulcan-6-24x56-illuminated-ffp-mil-riflescope You need some mounts as well. Is the 1k budget including mounts? You will want a 20 moa rail for 308 out to 1000 yards. The 56mm bell meant 38mm high mounts on a flat top pic rail for me. I bought the above recently but I have only zeroed it and not had chance to use it properly yet. Glass seems very clear but I have nor compared it to the others mentioned above. Matt
  6. I use 3M Peltor ProTac Hunters and find them very comfortable to use and effective. I tend to forget I am wearing them quite quickly. They make it easy to have conversations at the range even when others are shooting. Matt
  7. It is a new rule/law, all new significant component, pressure bearing parts of a firearm need to be numbered now. The police system is not set up to receive these from what I understand. It wants one serial number per gun, now it will need 3 or 4 logged for each gun. Breach,/barrel, bolt, receiver and uppers and lowers for ar types. I have seen a post from Lantac who make AR type guns where they are getting everything numbered up for a batch of new guns. Edit. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=3438208749577957&id=148402105225321 That should be a link to their facebook post about it. Matt
  8. Maxtich, I would have taken rimmie's post as snakeman man did. The item has been sold to you. Like an auctioneer dropping the hammer and yelling sold. Posting up his details is not good form nor a reasonable response especially given the time frame. I would suggest deleting them from here and anywhere else you posted them. Rimmie has said he won't do anything until you have and I can understand his stance tbh. You can then confirm with him via pm that the message meant that you have successfully purchased the item or arange a refund if you both don't want to proceed with the sale. Best of luck to both in getting it sorted.
