I had this problem a bit back....thinking that new barrels are getting rare ,second hand are maybe not the best .I got Mike Norris to do one for me utilising the stub from a shot out barrel ....he put a brand new Bartlein on for me....could have had it fluted but never bothered....cerakoted finish and is an absolute laser
Hi
I have made up some loads but due to the lockdown have not yet tried them on the range.I have also gathered the bits together to cast some lead 308 160 gr bullets to use in the loads going forward
If you are not fussed about saving the bullets just put them in the shell holder and with no die in your single stage press....send the round up through the press just enough to get a pair of pliers grip the bullet....lower the round and grip the pliers firmly hard against the top of your press...it will come out and a lot easier than the kinetic route....certain bullets you can get away with using the wire cutters on your pliers.
Hope this helps
Thinking about getting a new Dillon RL550 been running a 550 for 30 years they are a fantastic machine.....my question is this ....are the current issue calibre conversion kits and tool heads compatible with the earlier model?
Could somebody please point me the way of the main Lyman importer for the UK?
