Funny that
I used to sell a lot of 9mm pistols SOLELY for the purpose above, and only to UK FAC holders to legally use for self defence in the UK
Nothing skyrocketed
NOT highly trained folk from the high speed low drag community - just average "man in the street" type working Brits - no doubt a few are still alive to go home to their families because they WERE armed
Want a better idea of more widespread concealed carry by normal citizens - try the Czech Republic.
A problem, all those normal folk being armed? Not according to this: Presidential decree/statement
I know which country I would feel safer in, compared to this one example, and it's NOT the UK
And that is ONE example, of a close European neighbour that allows citizens such rights. Subjects however, different rules for us....goes back at least 100 years to the real reason for the 1920 Firearms Act (hint: the real reason not being the official one - you have to read "Whitehall Diaries" by Jones to see the two or three sentences that kicked off the decline in the Rights of the normal British man to freely purchase a gun without prior state approval)There is at least one member of the forum that lives in Czech if you want to understand how it works .

The sporting rifles appear to have average accuracy - by that I mean they group ok rather than single hole - if I can use Robins target as the “what to strive for goal”
Ive looked long and hard at 22 rimfire for myself to practice with and to conduct some vermin control and come to the conclusion that I do not need a repeater
I’d rather have accuracy over mortar fire capability
Having considered many repeaters and discounted because of known issues or less than adequate accuracy I located a Anchutz 1807 I plan to train with to provide cheap (ish) practice
Once it arrives and I set it up I’ll put some groups as like many others I’d like to see how my rifles shoot over repeat groups not just one or two
Had I been able to locate a Winchester 54 I’d have bought one of those
Convert it to mag feed ignore that just being silly ...

So you take a S/A buntline allready on a sec 1 and you cut the barrel down and add a coathanger (as an RFD or do you need to be ? ) .Assuming the proof marks are not removed and you dont sell the gun does it need reproof ?

As you allready guesed Dave i like that ...

Over the past 4 months I have a vision problem in my right eye (mentioned on a previous post).
After getting a few replies I decided to continue shooting right handed but using my left eye and after purchasing a few items to get the scope up and left this is the set up.
It looks Heath Robinson and works but I wonder if it would be detrimental to accuracy/rifle set up etc.
A mate of mine described it as 'abortion' so feel free to say what you think, good or bad.
I could just put the scope back in the normal position and shoot left handed.
Cheers.
Just a thought if it works then great but
Maybe quick release the main 45 deg angled rail so the scope isnt bashed in the case and bond the other bits together to eliminate movement .
