I get what you're saying and agree in part however there's a big generalisation there.  There are plenty of media outlets that do try to remain factual in reporting news - New York Times, Washington Post, The Times, BBC etc.  I don't doubt there's bias in editorial comment however I think any intelligent person would know that and apply their own biases (we all do it).

The problem is in the sensationalist treatment of factual news to give a slant that's unfair (on all sides of the political spectrum) in populist rags and media like The Daily Flail, The Scum, Fox "News".  I would half add The Guardian to the biased list, they can do excellent reporting however I'm heartily sick of the WOKE agenda popular among the chattering classes.

A bigger problem is the unmediated nonsense peddled on YouTube; again, there's some good stuff but it hides in the shadows of "alternative facts" peddled by crackpots and political extremists.  That's where a real danger lies.  The answer? I don't have any however more skepticism please when reading/viewing anything:  who is telling me? why are they telling me that? what's their motivation? what's the alternative views?

The public have been 'coached' for years (for under 40's - all their lives) to believe any old twiddle the marketing men can devise.  They bombard us with bull shine and create angst to get the sheeple to buy the latest shiny thing that's immediately out of date. "Celebrity" culture is another example of popular manipulation.

Harry has my sympathy, he didn't ask to be born into the mad house of the Windsors (Mrs Windsor excepted Ma'm). He has done his bit,  however he's made some stupid decisions.  I hope he gets by ok and his kid doesn't fall into the same sh1t as he had to endure.

BBC and factual in the same sentance   now there is a leap of faith

TopScots, Cz seems to be doing well, not many cv 19 cases and the range has been open since last Tuesday. Shops should open during May. I am not sure that this is not premature though.

There  seems a glut of SLR ( L1A1’s) here -refurbished 308 semi autos for +/- £600 retail. I don’t think them prices make it an attractive proposition for anyone to re- manufacture as a straight pull or .22 semi though.

Where would the SLR have been  built Dave

So if it fair to say that a rimfire SLR would be somewhere near the top of many of our lists then why isn’t someone making them? Bound to be more popular than some of the models so far release here.

And if s/auto 22WMR are doable in an AR style platform, such as NWCP and now Guncraft do, why not one in SLR guise?

Ive got a Hammerli Tac R1 and a Walther Uzi while the missus has a Sig 552. Swap all of them for a SLR.

    what including the missus ?

I’ll try that, although just using it the one time will mean it’ll last a fair while.  I had around a hundred cases each of .204, .223 and 6br, each coming out as clean as the last.  But being a cheapskate, I’ll definitely be filtering it from now on and I can save the vinegar for my chips.
    Thanks again Pops

i run a untrasonic for cleaning stuff (not cases yet ) . I use parafin  . When it gets dirty i drain it into a clean container through a petrol fuel filter (attached buy pipe) . This filters own to about 10 micon . leave it to stand for a week then gently pour back in .. gues it wold work on this stuff as well .

Dave, after the CV19 crisis is under control you are very welcome to come out and play with this and other kit. Craig should be coming out in November for the mil comp so maybe hitch a ride with him and join in the comp too.

To straight pull one - zoom  in on the left hand side - the  charging handle and slot is already there as part of the alloy upper.

Derek, I think you have shot the ALFA. If not then definitely try it next time you are over.

Yep shot it Dave i like it . might have been Thomases with the 2 sights .

Dave, excellent work as usual. Just for info as Aks are not as common in the U.K. car circles - if it’s a 100 series receiver it’s possible FAB do a plastic skin kit and full length / integral aluminium picatinny upper.. It’s sold as a full semi-auto rifle as an AK ALFA. Below is a pic of mine with 1-6x Kahles. The charging handle can be reversed L to R in a few seconds- just a thought for a car match type alternative to an AR 15 platform. Mine is in .223 Rem 1:7” twist. Shoots very well to 600m with heavy bullets but hates ss109s.
