I have cancer and they have chopped out a fair section of the old rear stovepipe. I have to say that having been through the op I might have done a runner if I'd known the pain and discomfort you go through, I now have to wait for the results of an expert at Christies Hospital as to whether they got it all or I have to go on chemotherapy next!! and they are not wrapping up how nasty that will be !! I can only praise the nursing staff and the specialists as highly as possible for the kindness and care they have given me, they really are worth their weight in gold and also the often criticised NHS without which I could never have been able to afford this treatment, it really is the Jewel in the UK crown. So I am waiting to be able to get out again ( with a mate driving of course ) and hopefully good news as well. At the moment getting upstairs to the bathroom and back leaves me exhausted for a couple of hours. But the wife made me a fabulous ( if small ) welcome back tea of venison with bacon and cream sauce creamed spuds and peas, the hospital food was very good but you dont get this sort of thing on the menu. Managed to convince other patients and staff that not all shooters are homicidal maniacs and they were borrowing my UK and USA mags on deer and varminting to read and asking for game recipes to try, so a little plus for our world. I am not feeling quite as perky at the moment, due to strong medication and coming off the strong painkillers ( adictive apparently if you keep taking them), so down to earth with a bit of a bump and not able to get out for a while yet. However the specialist rang me with wonderful news yesterday, they have had the lab results back and are pretty sure they got it all!!! I will still have to have 3 monthly tests etc , but I will hopefully remain clear from now on. I will get out before long I hope and will have to be content to read about your outings until then.
