N150 for 6.5cm, 6mmbr & 308

Hi, I've just picked up my new AX308. I have the 3 barrels for it. I want to use N150 for all 3 calibers, bullet weights are 140 smk/6.5cm(38.5 grn), 6mmbr 107 smk(30.5 grn) & 308 168 hpbt(44.5 grn). Do you think these loads are ok?.

n150 is good for the .308 and the 6mmbr with the bullets you intend to use. It maybe a little fast for the 6.5 140gr bullets. You would have to try it for real world results. N160 appears to be the preferred powder for 140gr bullet.

What 6.5 mm cartridge? I take it's the 6.5x47 Lapua as that means they can all share the same bolt (face). If that, then N150 is suitable for all three with those bullets weights.

 

Vihtavouri load data for:

 

6 mm BR Norma;

6.5x47 Lapua;

308 Winchester.

 

N140 might be better with the 6 mm BR, according to their data (the accuracy load), but you'd just have to try.

Hi, yes it's a 6.5 creedmoor. A couple of years ago HPS loaded me some creedmoor ammo using the 140 bullet/N150, it worked OK with this load in my sako trg.

I'm about to try some N150 loads in my Creedmoor. These loads were confirmed as excellent by a guy on the Creedmoor Facebook page. I'll let you know how they worked asap.

Does your AX feed the 6BR, or is this one a single shot only?

 

And just to be proper nosey, are these the Paddy Dane made barrels sold by Sporting Services?

Hi shuggy, sporting services single shot mag, got the 6br barrel from them as well. The creedmoor barrel came off my old aw, that is a bartlein.

I use to use n150 in the Swede. Found it was all pressure and no speed. Also tryied in the creedmoor but same on that. Group was ok but not great. Switched the swede to n160 and the creed to rs62

The 6mmbr seems to be good on accuracy with N150

Yup, 39.7 grains of N150 works well with the 140 grain SMK in my Creedmoor.

Having said that H4350 is still the best.
