Toby
Hi. If I am mostly loading cartridges to SAAMI spec o.a.l which would the best comparator be of the Sinclair Hexnut or the Hornady/Sinclair insert which fits onto the calipers? Any other feedback or advive on the subject welcome. Have spent the last 10 yrs just measuring to the bullet tip instead of ogive.
rhhudson
I've got a hornady one that attaches to your caliper with a thumb wheel, dead easy to use and your not trying to hold three things at once. Not over expensive and i think i have seen a kit with a selection of inserts for various calibres.
DaveT
Also look at Shooting shed...similar to Hornady but better made.
gbal
Used both. Sinclair/Hornady insert on calipers much prefered-but Shooting Shed -using same approach-may well be better engineered. gbal
alpha1
I use the shooting sheds.
GarethM
In an ideal world, I would like to see the Shooting Sheds comparators combined with a ratchet style micrometer. It would eliminate the differing hand pressure on the gauge (something I struggle to get consistent) Gareth

VarmLR
Hornady is easy to use and as good as any other similar type for the job in hand. Advantage is you can use the same holder for their headspace gauges. Sinclair not so easy to use but has lots of cals on one hex nut. I don't use my Sinclair one if anyone wants it, pm me.
