  1. I regularly book ranges at Catterick and speak to the people in the booking office at least once a month I have heard no mention of limiting ammo to factory only.
  2. Does any one on here shoot PPC if so I have a brand new unused still in the original packaging L.E Wilson Neck sizing bushing die for sale. Its half price at £45 posted.I ordered it by mistake and I can not be chewed returning it.
  3. I use L.E.Wilson neck bushing dies. I have a few neck expanders mainly from NOE bullet moulds over the pond. I also use their moulds for cast bullets I have just ordered a mould for my 6.5 Creedmoor. I thought it would be fun to see if I can get it to perform with cast bullets as I rarely shoot past 300 yards.
  4. As per the title for sale an as new unused Clymer .308 chamber reamer. Just to make it clear it does not accept a bushing it is a solid pilot chamber reamer. £100 posted.
  5. I think you will be very lucky to find anyone to lend you headspace gauges in the Uk. They are not a licensable item but I have found it impossible to buy them from any UK supplier even if you have a firearm certificate with the caliber you want them for.
  6. I posted this on another forum I thought it might be of interest. viewtopic.php?f=11&t=26109&p=296196&hilit=How+to+slug+your+bore#p296196
  7. If you are contemplating using cast bullets in your .303 I would suggest you pm dodgyrog and purchase them from him. His bullets are the correct alloy(hardness ie: Lyman No2 not hard cast.) That will fill the grooves properly. I cast my own bullets and I would not have hard cast bullets given even if they came for free. Actually that's not true I would melt them down and add soft lead to achieve a Lyman number 2 alloy. I have been shooting cast loads for more years than I care to remember you want an alloy that will fill the groves hard cast is not the way to go you need to get them from Rog or cast your own. I have used dodgyrog,s bullets in all my cast bullet calibers, and never had any issues. But nowadays as I said I usually cast my own I use range lead gathered up from the Clubs backstop.
  8. Dont use hard cast bullets.
  9. If you are serious about going down the cast bullet route you do not want hard cast bullets. Forget the Lee expander get a Lyman Mdie and buy a copy of the Lyman cast bullet manual.
  10. Hi Does anyone know what the thread size is on the Ruger precision rifle muzzle? It's a 6.5 Creedmoor. I was told 5/8"x24 but I am not sure it is.
  11. Any idea of a ballpark price. I could be tempted.
  12. I have owned my SSG 69 for ever I have no idea how many years. I have four magazines for it two 10 rounds that are no longer usable as the locking lugs broke off. Two 5 rounds that may be would still work. My problem was the usual the mag bottom stock plastic thingy was cracked. I fitted the Styria arms bottom metal and as far as I am concerned its the way to go. Works a treat accepts 5 or 10 round mags. I have just fitted a dedicated scope rail to accept picatiny/weaver mounts and replaced the Khales scope that came with it with a 30mm Vortex. Looking forward to getting on the range once this lock down is over.
  13. I use a targetmaster powder trickler with a tuned hornady beam scale for all my reloads and have done for years. Its made in the UK and it just works. I use lab scales at work I find they drift and need constant re zeroing to be accurate.
  14. I bought the target master and a calibrated scale great piece of kit. I use mine connected to a lap top its the dogs dangly bits.
