tackb
I doubt you will see .223 holes at 300m with a £350 spotting scope ? sadly I think you will have to spend a good bit more to get the clarity you need.

The Gun Pimp
Always the same advice - buy a Kowa if you can afford it - if not, buy the Chinese equivalent - a Nikula - from Brian Fox. £265 in a (Chinese) Peli case! Excellent scope - couldn't split it from my Kowa!

ds1
this will do what you want .......but also you need a good tripod to take advantage of the optic. http://ukvarminting.com/forums/topic/21717-zeiss-diascope-victory-85mm-spotting-scope-tripod/
Strangely Brown
It shouldn't be a problem seeing .223 holes with a scope with an objective lens of 100mm at 300. It's brightness that allows you to see rather than a high magnification. However I would question the optical quality of the scope over say 40x power; this is common in most scopes except the top end ones like Leica, Zeiss and Swarovski. Reecy
Hi-Coolforgot, I have a brill spotting scope that I have not been using-it's a Kowa TSN TSN 821- I have never seen anything better than this one. It has the 20 to 60 power magnification eye-piece and an 80mm objective. It is in mint condition-it has spent all of it's life in a Skua padded cover which would come with it If you are interested, send me your e-mail addy and I will send you some piccies Best regards Reecy

Mick Miller
I can see 223 & 243 holes clearly at 300yards with nothing more than a Hawke Endurance with a 68mm objective.
