It shouldn't be a problem seeing .223 holes with a scope with an objective lens of 100mm at 300. It's brightness that allows you to see rather than a high magnification.

 

However I would question the optical quality of the scope over say 40x power; this is common in most scopes except the top end ones like Leica, Zeiss and Swarovski.

Hi-Coolforgot,

 

I have a brill spotting scope that I have not been using-it's a Kowa TSN TSN 821- I have never seen anything better than this one.

 

It has the 20 to 60 power magnification eye-piece and an 80mm objective.

 

It is in mint condition-it has spent all of it's life in a Skua padded cover which would come with it
