RINGMAN
I am considering to buy a Remington 700 cal' .308win. The seller say it is almost new.(10 shots). I checked the headspace with Forster( .308-7.62NATO) NO-GO gauge, and the bolt closed with no problem. Is it an issue? The guage is good.
The Gun Pimp
Not if YOU are going to hand-load for it. You just won't need to bump your brass back quite as much. Even if you shoot factory ammo, it won't be a problem - new brass will simply blow-out to fill the chamber. The only problem you will encounter is if you re-size your brass more than you need to - then you will stretch it on firing, then bump back, then stretch it etc etc - the result will eventually be head-separation of the brass. RINGMAN
Thank you for the answer. Here it is forbiden to reload. The only ammo is I.M.I. 168 grain, factory made. Do you think it will damage the accuracy?

Andrew
Can you shoot it before buying it? It would seem a simple answer to your question.~Andrew
bradders
Does Remington make headspace loose a little bit for all purpose guns? Not all headspace gauges are the same. I wouldn't worry about it
