baldie
Here,s a Savage I,ve just finished today. The donor rifle landed and was fitted with a Truflite palma profile barrel and chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor. The muzzle thread is an unusual 3/4" x 16 TPI which is the Southern Gun Company preferred thread, and will fit the owners mod which does double duty on several guns. Covered with an invisible cap. Action and barrel bead blasted to freshen everything up. This was then fully bedded into the McMillan A5 stock. Nice guns the Savages. I,m going to do a few more I think. kent
is that the safety in front of the bolt handle? I am not that familiar with the action but that seems rather weird
baldie
No, its the bolt release. The safety is on the tang.
kent
No, its the bolt release. The safety is on the tang. I thought it might be a step too far and wasn't sure of the bit on the tang, looked too low and fiddly to be the safe switch - bet that would be hard with gloves on
Tuck
Dave we see you finish alot of your rifles in the Macmillan stocks! But a lot of the rifles you seem to do, I didn't know that they made a Macmillan for a savage action! Do you buy them for a different action and make them fit??? Or do jacksons have alot more stocks than is ever listed on the website?
baldie
McMillan inlet for an awful lot of actions, and it is an american rifle. I buy a lot from Jacksons, but also order quite a few direct too. Still the best stock in the world in my opinion.

Brillo
I notice it's not the Savage Accutrigger. Is it an after market model?
baldie
No , its the standard model. The action must be older, its not a bad trigger actually.
