WTS: UNFIRED F class OPEN 6.5-284 Shahane Tracker

I am putting this rifle for sale because I have just been offered a sponsorship package for the next 04 years so F-class is out for me

 

I commissioned this rifle in open class through Peter Walker

 

It is a 6.5-284 no turn neck

 

Stiller Predator action with integral 1913 rails

 

Lilja 1 in 8 barrel intended for 140 projectiles

 

Bill Shahane tracker stock - I am told by peter that he applied 10 coats of varnish

 

Mirror polished barrels

 

Jewel trigger of course

 

It has fired 02 shots at the proof house and that's it

 

I have a complete set of Wilson dies

 

100 new Lapua cases

 

Today this rifle will cost over £4500

 

All ready to go I am looking for £3250

 

I will try to answer any questions

I certainly do remember it - it is a beautiful rifle. I still have its twin - although I am also about to sell mine also. Exactly the same spec but mine was originally a 22 Dasher and holds the UK 600 yd BR record. It's now a 6mm Swiss Match.

I would have thought it is perfect tool for anybody starting out ?

Unfortunately, when you had this rifle built, the 6.5-284 was a viable cartridge for F Class. In my opinion, it still is but, most serious F Class Open shooters will now opt for a 'seven' - either the 7mmWSM or 'straight' 284.

 

Also, when you had it built, the CNC metal chassis systems weren't readily available - now, with Dolphin offering a complete rifle for under £2500 there are loads of 'em - maybe 50% of the entry looking at the Diggle shoot this last weekend.

Wow - drastic! The best thing about your rifle is the Pete Walker pedigree - once you take it apart you are left with the bare components..................... What's a s/h stock worth that needs to be re-bedded?

dont split it up as vince says keep it as it is peters work takes a lot to beat it and his rifles win comps advertise it and im sure it will sell .
