Spuhr
Hi everybody. As there is opionons and questions around my mountsystem from time to time I asked Brown dog if I was allowed to make an explaination of the system. He agread. Its first important to understand that this is a modular system mainly intended for military and police. Its a system and NOT a mount. There is 1000 of mount manufactureres out there that basicly to the same thing, grab the scope onto the gun. But we wanted some more out of it. The intention is a military mounting system that not only solves mounting issues with the scopes but also for various assesories. (This mount have now been delivered to the swedish Defence forces to be used on AIAW 7,62 with direct mount on to the action) The mount is made as one piece, machined out from 7075 T651 alumimium, one of the most extreme qualitys avilible and considerably better than 6061 and 6082. The rings are grooved on the inside to hold the scope extremely firmly and also provide possiblitys for gluing. The mount is cut in 45 degrees to give the operator a chance to see his knobs without moving his head to much. Espesially the PMll scopes have extremely narrow knobs and rings normally cover that. We have also a indexmark in the ring to further speeds up the perception. The squared rings also gives the shooter a perception if he is canting the gun or not, nothing exact but a fast perception. As leveling of the scope always is a hazzle we have included a 10 degree slot in the mount, and this 10 degree key is included. Mounting the scope at the right leveling is now quicky and easy. The level is built in to the mount, and just by open your left eye you will see it and correct any errors. Built in, will not be broken off or forgot at home. Many users want to add on various accesories to the mount. Such as lasers, secondary sights, NV or thermal. We have a broad range of various accesorys that can be added on to any of our mounts. A secondary sight is very good when the sight is set at high magnification and you need to find the next target. At 16X its very difficult but you find it fast in the reddot sight, and then swithes back to the main sight. Another solution is for the military who had dialed the sight in for 1100 meters and he have a sudden thread at 150 meters, with a reddot the solution is quick, but not so much if he shoud dial the sight back.... Here is a aimpoint and a PEQ15 laser. For NV users its easy to attach a SIMRAD, and if the light not is sufficient an illuminator as well. The main point is to get the illumination as high up over the ground as possible to avoid illuminating the grass or the supressor.... Direct attachments for ACI. Many scopes today have such short maintubes, and PMll in particular so we made the ACI mount to fit the mount it self instead of the scope or the base. Spuhr
Totally we make over 24 various mount models. Here is our separate rings with direct mount for Trijicon RMR. We try to avoid the "picatinny race" the ones that die with the most total lenght of picatinny on his rifle does NOT win... So we make a series of mounts for various guns. Here is our Accuracy, TRG, Sauer and Tikka mounts. Our Interface solution. two conical rings, that fit together with pressfit so the joint always will stay playfree. The mount is lightend as much as possible, and we have also limited the contac surface against the picatinny in order to enhance the repetability. There is certainly a lot of mounts on the market that is more beuitifull than ours. But here is no part of this design that is made for looks. This is a tool, to be made as user friendly and effective as possible. This is not the mount I am using for my pretty driven hunt gun, but the mount I use for long range and that we sell more and more of to various SF units and now also have got our first green army order for. I have also made a youtube movie about it, that you can see at. Thanks for your time. Hope you appreiciate my explanation. brown dog
Hakan, Does that 10 degree key actually force the scope to lie correctly whilst the rings are tightened? If so, that's genius! Does your AW mount accommodate 5-25 Schmidts (with their deeper saddle)?
Deserttech Europe
Hi all, One for the UK gunsmiths doing direct smithing work for the UK police on their G36's. Hakan showed me some amazing bottom metal last year that you should contact him about regarding these rifles. there could be some good business in it for you both. regards Ewen DTA Europe
Spuhr
Yes the mounts works with 5-25. In fact those mounts are orignally built around the PMll series as they have a very short and limited maintube that is very difficult to mount other assesories to. Yes the 10 degree key rotates the scope so it levels right. We do however recomend users to check it on the range so they are absolutely sure that everything is 100%. But that is something that always should be done, same with scope tracking etc. Yes I have done a lot of work for G36 and HK417. Converting both guns to M4/m16 and SR25 mags, new forends and various other upgrade parts. Normally all are businees are military/police and the scopemounts are an exemption as we have pretty good sales on the civilian market there as well Generally for all products we have is that they are of our own construction, and they offers more and different options for the user than what other manufacturers products do. We have never started a product that is a copy of what other companies are doing as there always is a lot of improvements that can be done. Also competing on the "copy" market is so booring as the main factor then is price. Håkan

Spuhr
The really main idea with the mount and the most important are in my opinion the slitting of the rings. There is no other mounts on the market that gives the shooter this overview of the knobs as our mounts does. This makes adjustments faster, its easyer and fast to check if the knobs are in the right setting etc. We have shipped mounts to Shooting supplies ltd in Worshester as well as Open season. But not any quantity, but we are certainly looking for a stocking dealer in UK. Håkan
