We are getting a bit off OP but I’d actually think I’d put Al Jazeera above BBC, but there are very few media groups (if any) who are not doing things for a personal gain/agenda of some sort or another, pretty much like any/all politicians etc.
e.g the either scripted or stoooopid questions put to the three stooges each day re. C-19, FFS do they really think the public are that dense - or perhaps they do?
Do not trust any of them, with anything.

Guys Im not a journalist but ive spent 40 odd years working in Newspapers and TV all over the world and compared to some we have a pretty free and impartial press!

got the idea from TerryH, sharing his cigar box guitar (which is cool for sure)
Did think about adding in navigation charts for sailing, mountaineering skis, sea kayak bits & bobs, my Fender and my lathe but I couldn't get that upstairs 😁
Oooh... Fender.... Strat, Tele or other?

In all seriousness, when I was shooting in the 80's/90's it was rare to see a bipod and even rarer to see someone laying a rifle across a bag, rest, tripod, sandbag or anything else. It was mainly off the elbows and slings.
Nowadays, walk along the firing point at Bisley on any club shoot day and you will struggle to see anyone shooting without a rest.
When did things change I wonder, and where's the enjoyment of hammering in V Bull after V Bull from 300 yards when the rifle is rock solid on a rest?
Just my two penn'th
I do know what you mean but time stands still for no man. I used to do a lot of diving, started in the mid 70's, and the equipment in use now is unrecognisible from those days.

Im afraid most bits of my body are well past there "best before" date!

Guys we can shoot again i will have approximately £1000 to spend on a Scope and bipod for a new 6.5CM I intend to buy for recreational target shooting mostly at Bisley.
How would you apportion the money between the scope and the bipod? (so I don't instantly want to upgade!)

Hmmm Magnus effect Although pretty insignificant on a bullets flight path it’s still a very interesting phenomenon. 🤔
stop it FFS .
It worked for Barnes Wallis 🙂 (though not exactly on the flight path)

Didnt know John personally, but Ive shot against (and lost to) Kevin in the past. Really sad news especially as he was a youngster compared to I.

Well just my opinion slightly influenced by home delivery beer! AI and Tikka tac are both pretty good, but our doctrine where I work ‘prone is dead’ as far as rifle shooting is concerned and improvised shooting positions being the next new thing. Based upon this I use aTRG in 260 rem and a Tikka CTR in the same calibre for target shooting, but I am starting to think that you could do just as well with a heavy barrel Blaser apart from the magazine capacity.
>>>>>>>Perhaps part of it is the kit, I collect watches and as my wife point out they all tell the bloody time why do you actually need one that costs £6000.
Have a great evening,🦌💀
Is it to late to send her back for a refund? 🙂

Like I said if ALL you have is a target shooting condition at a home Office approved range Blah blah you your have to speak to your licensing dept .
shouldn’t be a problem as long as your a good enough reason for whatever your asking for 👍Will do, cheers

Guys I have the standard conditions on my FAC for a target shooter. I also have a friend who owns several hundred acres of land and disused sand pits within walking distance of my house. I already do a bit of pigeon shooting on his land, but whats the procedure if i wanted to do accompanied target shooting in one of his old quarries.

Cant shoot! ( Im a paper puncher)
Cant reload, ( run out of primers)
So Ive got myself a copy of Applied ballistics ( this was a p/ex) and have just ordered a copy of quickload.
This lock down better end before I get onto the March, NF or S&B websites!
-
Funnily enough "Gary in Chicago" had a copy of the Applied Balistics book I was after, and I should "reach out to him" I didn't!

Now thats an idea. Used to have one fitted in an old Wrangler long before the days of PMR.

I shoot the Olympic trap, comtetition costs vary but but I never paid more that £80 I think (100/125+clays.)
A set of traps ( 15 for OT) will run around £50K

Looks good that.
Had an issue with a new MTR and had to send it back for a refund. So kind of put off by the new CZ.
What was the issue with the MTR? Ive had one for about a year now with no problems other than I wish it had an adjustable comb, hence I do fancy the stock on the LRP. I wonder if it will be avaialable without the action?

Stock choice.
in Target Shooting & Informal Long Range Shooting Practice
Posted
Guys, As i mentioned below in "division of funds" im soon to get a new 6.5cm for all round target shooting 100m to 1000m+.
Now rather limiting my choice is I really dont like the look of tactical rifles, I do however like wood. Looking round it seems i have a couple of options for a wooden (Liminate is ok) stock. One is a Hunter type stock, Ive seen a couple of Howa actions in GRS stocks, or a pure target/F class type stock ,the Sabatti TLD gold for instance.
My question is which design of stock do you think would be the best allrounder? Can you shoot McQueens with the Sabatti or 1000m with a GRS hunter? or if as I hope, my lack of talent will be an issue before the rifle design at any discpline.
