  1. that sounds like a tempting alternative - like Badger suggested, slower and longer burn powder choices
  2. Lots of excellent info thanks. Creedmore seems to shade it but only just. I like the fact that the bolt face is the same as the 308 so re-tubing my rifle is straight forward. I'm not too bothered about any extra life in the barrel by using 6.5 Swede and the possible head/bolt problem is a factor so it's 6.5CM for me. A boringly predictable choice but maybe why it's so popular😁 I've also shot Creedmore and personal experience only re-enforces my likely choice.
  3. I'm planning a new rifle for 1000yd accuracy. Looking at Berger's reloading manual I'm struck that 6.5 Creedmore, 260 Remington, 6.5x55 Swed., and 6.5x47 Lap all have very similar external ballistics with the same bullets using the same powder choices. What's the opinion regarding the benefit choice one over the others and why?
  4. What was the weather like? Was it much different from any previous shooting of that load combination?
  5. I'm selling off my Vortex PST Viper FFP 6-24 x 50. Milrad 0.1 turrets and EBR-1 illuminated reticule. It's in excellent condition with no marks on the body or glass. All documentation, sunshade, lens caps and zero shims. This has been an excellent first focal plane scope but I need some dosh to offset the cost of a new Vortex Razor Gen2. £550
  6. OK, it's yours, send me a PM with your details and I'll send you BACS info for payment.
  7. yes, Vortex Razor Gen2 on order and it has a 34mm tube hence clear out
  8. One 30mm fitment Vortex bubble level for sale. Perfect condition. £20 posted free UK
  9. I have a Tier One picatinny mono mount for sale as it doesn't fit my new scope. 30mm rings, Long Saddle, 10moa, Medium (30mm high), built in bubble. Excellent as new condition. These are currently £294. I'm looking for £185 posted UK free.
  10. That's a fluffing nice gun mate! I have a 32" Truflight 1:10 and that's pushing .338LM 300gn Scenars to 2850 fps with 92gn Viht N570. A nice clean burn.
  11. Nice! What's your barrel spec?
  12. Vortex have emailed me: The EBR-7C is the new version of the EBR-2C. They say the prices on their website can be ignored as they're "MSRP" and not relevant. Basically the 7C is the new one and available in the USA for $2,000. Or Uttings for £2,000 (if they have one in stock)
  13. No, both are FFP. Both are illuminated https://vortexoptics.com/riflescopes/razor-hd-gen-ii.html
  14. Hi Can any one shed light on why these two seemingly identical, but for the reticle, scopes are so different in price on the Vortex website? Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56-EBR-2C (MRAD) = $3,399 Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x56-EBR-7C (MRAD) = $2,899 The specs seem to be identical excepting the different reticles
  15. I have a Barnard PL action with a Truflite 32' 1:10 tube. Dolphin chassis with a folding stock. Did you not clock it at Eskdalemuir? A badgers' eyes don't work too good in the light😁. Seemed to work quite well with 300gn Lapua I thought. Single loads only. The Barnard trigger is excellent. The whole lot is pretty heavy but that makes for a comfortable shoot.
  16. .338 Lap Mag for my vote. However I will be happy to have a go of your .300 Norman if you swing that way.
  17. Why waste a vote? I look forward to the 2nd referendum 😁🇪🇺
  18. Indeed Mr Brock. We oomans look forward to helping you use up your many and various bang sticks too.
  19. best get it used up and stick a 1:10 on so you can shoot dem 300 pills Bro!
